I am trying to solve the tanner quest but I think i lost the exotic hide? I don't know what I did with it??!! i checked most of the shops to see if i sold it and couldn't find it. I now have no evidence to confront Rejik(??) is there anyway I can solve this or get that exotic hide back somehow? any kind of patch i can download?

I'm not sure, but I think the shopkeeper takes som of the items in the quest. Try talking to the Liutenant (eastern exit) who gave you the quest, I don't think you need the hide once you've figured out what it is. I'm not 100% sure about this though.

Don't worry, you just can confromt the tanner without any evidence, just attack him. It's possible to solve the quest this way.

The fat shopkeeper in the middle area probably took it. One of the dialogue lines offers the hide to him to identify, and he keeps it. Check your journal - it will record this event if you had done it.

But yeah, you don't even need to bother with evidence. Just go attack the tanner.

but confronting him without the hide....if i do this will i still get experience?

Yeah, no problem. Just make sure you first finish the quest/drive away the tanner from the little dock before you talk to Aegisfeild.
If you talk to the cop first without having chased the tanner, you get less XP.

excellent guys. thanks for the advice. i'm gonna try to pickpocket him based on what Blog said. if that doesn't work, I'm just gonna go kill him...
