Thanks to everyone who gave their opinion on the last thread: Where's the Opposition? I thought there were some really good points on both sides, and it is certain that there is no clear-cut answer to the complex issue of the media's role and its relationship with the government in wartime.

However, it's good to see that the media is casting a more critical eye on our involvment in post-war Iraq. Even Rummy threw a public fit yesterday because of reports of anarchy and looting in major Iraqi cities, which he referred to as "untidy." The media has been having a lot of fun with his description of the situation there. I guess the media is finally awake.

The topic of post-war Iraq will probably be with us for sometime, and in keeping with this I thought it would be good to have a thread that would deal with the issue of post-war Iraq and America's continued involvement there.

This month, Citizen Works -- a public watchdog group founded by Ralph Nader -- gave Dick Cheney its Big Business Day Award, naming him "Daddy Warbucks" as a result of his connection with Halliburton and the rebuilding of Iraq. Now, I'm curious as to what all of you think about Cheney, Halliburton and the early stages of how America is handling post-war Iraq.
