the one in the northeast corner who asks you questions... he has something in his eye that if you drag the cursor over it, lights up. everytime i try clicking on it though, it just takes my character around the side of him and the character bumps himself against the side of the statue unable to reach whatever treasure lay in his eye. what am i doing wrong?

I don't think you cxan get anything out of it. It's like that table in the Ilithid city in the Underdark; probably either a mistake by the devs, or a placeholder container.

It's probably a container which holds a third part of te amulet (or whatever it's called)

It's a container; inside is a diamond. You can't actually get it due to the statue's overlay.

so how did you know if you can't get to it?

Go away from the statue till you can no longer see it (greyed out/ out of the charecters field of vision). Now when you move your mouse around it your icon will change to "pick", like it is a chest. I dont remember if it needs to be unlocked or not, there is no trap thats for sure. Now you can get the diamond.
Why it is there, no idea.
