I read two articles on it and I found them quite interesting, as they provide much more insight in the whole problem than Bush's hapless uttering about "evil people who hate our freedom" doing these sorts of things.

Try: What Motivates Suicide Bombers? (http://www.d-n-i.net/fcs/comments/c502.htm) and Suicide, the ultimate terror tactic (http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Front_Page/EI30Aa02.html) ...

And some more on Palestinian and Tamil Tiger suicide squads:
The Women of Terror (http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/EJ18Ak03.html)
Women suicide bombers defy Israel (http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/EJ25Ak02.html)
Suicide bombers feared and revered (http://www.atimes.com/atimes/South_Asia/EG17Df03.html)

It's true that religion is the main killer in the history of the world. I find it so confounding as to why? I mean, even if their religious enemies converted tomorrow, they would still kill them. What is it that religion holds over the world?

I, myself, am a religious person (to a point). But I loathe organized religion of any kind because as I look over history that is a wound which cannot heal.

I really don't think that the Islamic fundementalist even know who they hate anymore. As it says in the article they bomb anyone who even remotely lives and/or acts like Westerners (Turkey for example). So why is Saudi Arabia still the most fundementalist country. They should be blowing that place off the map! They get money from the West, which they use to buy things that are Western and they then live like Westerners. Has it gotten so boring for them that all they have left is terrorism, the next step from activism? Maybe that's the path the US is driving down.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Here's an article I read no too long ago in one of the magazines I subscribe to. (Again, why do I subscribe when they print it on the web for free? ;) )

Also the promise of being a martyr gets alot of them. Just like the 9/11 guys. They believed that what they were doing was right, even though they were going to be killed and that they would be awarded in the afterlife.
