View Full Version : POLL: EU parliament election
joacqin Thu, 3rd Jun '04, 5:03pm So, the EU parliment election is coming up and even though not too many people care overly much about it it would be nice to see how the parliment by SP would look like.
I dont know myself what I am going to vote for and will probably not decide until I stand by the urn, I am intensly pro-EU but the agricultural subsidaries have got to go. They are abberation.
Seeing as the different parties have different names in different countries I am giving them labels and you vote for the one which fits the party you intend to vote for the best. Also I am sure I am going to forget someone.

Pac man Thu, 3rd Jun '04, 5:07pm Out of all those politicians, there wasn't a single one who could come up with a "free beer for all" slogan ?
I'm shocked ! :D He would have surely gotten my vote.
Equester Thu, 3rd Jun '04, 5:43pm Social democrats...at least I think so
Pac man Thu, 3rd Jun '04, 8:21pm Why even bother ? You guys rejected the €, so why vote now ?
Mind you, rejecting the € is probably the smartest move imaginable at that time. Kudos to the Danish people.
Equester Thu, 3rd Jun '04, 8:27pm lol yeah your right, but i want to vote...heh I never voted before so it's voting time.
Actually i find this election kinda sad, Because here in Denmark there is no debate or information about why we should vote, even the politicians dosn't even care about thise election.
Pac man Thu, 3rd Jun '04, 8:39pm Probably because they realize that the most important spots in the European Parliament are going to be taken by the English, Germans, and French, not necessarily in that order.
They are the ones that will refurbish Europe, and make the most important decisions for the future, no matter the outcome of the vote. That's why i don't bother voting, it doesn't matter in my case. My country is small, has little political and/or financial influence, so we are nothing but a wallflower.
Register Fri, 4th Jun '04, 1:21am I won't vote, because I am not 18, only 17. And even if I did vote, I wouldn't vote( :p ) because voting only shows your support of a parliament that is only benefiting for the west and other **** like that the EU actually gives money to organizations that works to legalize prostitution.
Also, the EU enables the companies to fire workers that works in minimal wage to use immigrant workers that works for less, and that is not good at all.
And even if I had to vote, no matter what, I would vote for the SAC* Syndicalism but since they don't even choose to join in in the Swedish election due to the elitist goverment ideals we use, I seriously doubt that they will join in this election.
*SAC= Syndikalistiska ArbetarCentralen aka The Synicalistic Workers Central

joacqin Fri, 4th Jun '04, 9:55am How on earth do you and yours then make a political impact Caleb? If SAC wont even enter they have already given up.
I have heard many anti-EU people say that they wont vote and perhaps I should be happy for that cause the only think that leads to is that the EU parliment even lesser reflects their opinions.
Takara Fri, 4th Jun '04, 11:33am I'm a die hard liberal, so I'm going to be voting for them.
Register Fri, 4th Jun '04, 2:53pm Joacquin, my lack of good English prevents me from explaining it on English, so I will give a link to where you can understand why:
http://www.sac.se
The page is also avaible in English for you non-Swedish speakers.
Woodwyrm Sat, 5th Jun '04, 9:25am I was torn apart between the Socialists and the Greens.
Though my vote fell on the Socialists.
And, no; i won't tell the lot of you why :p
Uytuun Fri, 18th Jun '04, 10:01pm Liberals, but I voted for that one particular guy that I think would do a good job in the parliament. Otherwise I'm not overly fond of the liberals.
