View Full Version : Missing character
Elessar Tue, 24th Apr '01, 4:28pm Can anyone tell me it it is possible to get Aerie? She left me in the Umar Hills to "find herself". She was my best spell caster. I went back to the circus to have a look but she wasn't there. I know the other characters can be found in certain places after they are dumped but any ideas on Aerie?
Troy
Big Bad Bert Tue, 24th Apr '01, 4:31pm I messed her romance plot and she left....never to be seen again. I fear you may have done the same.
Enagonios Tue, 24th Apr '01, 4:39pm yeah. Once She leaves by herself, she'll never come back. Be it bec. You blew her off, or she didn't like someone like Korgan or bec. of that "find herself" crap. It's a real pisser ain't it? Anyways dude, just grab Edwin or Xzar or something til you grab Imoen in Spellhold. I found her a better mage than Aerie.
Big Bad Bert Tue, 24th Apr '01, 4:47pm Personally I detested Imoen, why she ever turned into a (useless mage imho, she's far behind level wise when you get her) is beyond me.
Aerie is a Cleric/Mage and I thought she was a great character. Nalia is a better mage than Imoen too imo.
Mathetais Tue, 24th Apr '01, 5:58pm The best thing to do is to go to a saved gamed right before she leaves you, and then begin sucking up huge! Tell her anything she wants to hear. Admit that you've been course, crass, and generally wrong! That usually gets her to hang out a bit longer. It helps if you compliment her wings, listen to a few stories about her home, and even cuddle her on cold nights (only after she asks!)
BTW - This works with real women too! Only, you can't save the game, and if you mess up, your in trouble for life.
Big Bad Bert Tue, 24th Apr '01, 6:09pm I'd miss out the wing compliments to real women tho'. :D
Enagonios Tue, 24th Apr '01, 6:27pm I don't think I'd like to spend a whole night reassuring some insecure namby-pamby chick ;)
Weeellll... maybe, but she'd have to be really hot :p Aerie was really on my nerves, she and Jaheira kept fighting. She shut up when I told her that we were just friends though... Finally ;)
Darien Noella Tue, 24th Apr '01, 7:00pm Boy, Mathetais, you're going to make some woman really happy one day. Right up until the day she dumps your asskissing, doormat hide for the challenging pleasure of a real man. :p
Jack Funk Tue, 24th Apr '01, 7:00pm I have Aerie in my party right now (we're still in Chapter 2). Is there much chance that she will leave?
I don't want to spend a lot of time bringing her along if she is going to split.
Thanks
Enagonios Tue, 24th Apr '01, 7:14pm Jack, there will always be an indication before she splits. Be it her discomfort with a fellow party member or "the need to find herself". It's up to you whether you wanna keep her or not. Keep in mind though, that under these circumstances, you'll never see her again if you let her leave. Also, if you wanna <ahem> get to screw her as my friends did, play up to her big time, use the most disgusting, ass kissing remarks every time ;)
But if you just wanna keep her around like me, answer politely, a little flirtily but don't overdo it. And btw, if you have Jaheira in your party? I hope you're a good diplomat, bec. the shits gonna hit the fan :D
Jack Funk Tue, 24th Apr '01, 8:42pm I have Jaheira in my party right now. But I'm not sure how much longer she will be with us.
I find her annoying and pretty ineffective.
Elessar Wed, 25th Apr '01, 5:40am Thanks for all the replies. I re-loaded and did a whole lotta kissin' up. I still have her with us. She is an 11th level mage/9th level cleric and I really don't know what I'd do without her. It must be love :D .
Firestorm Tue, 1st May '01, 4:43pm R'syil(sp?): What do you mean with taking Xzar can you have him in this game too, or what?? Please Explain.
Headbanger Tue, 1st May '01, 6:36pm Nope you can't get him in BG2... Edwin is evil, so not interesting for me too..... Imoen and Nalia are also a great couple. 'till Spellhold, you can use Heardallis for the spellcasting.
Earl Grey Tue, 1st May '01, 7:52pm Don't pass over a character just because of alignment! At least give it a thought first.
Mixing evil and good characters - within reason (watch it with Keldorn!) - makes for some fun interaction. I never played BG/TotSC with Edwin because he was evil and I had good parties. I'm glad I gave him a try in BG2.
Headbanger Tue, 1st May '01, 7:56pm Good and Evil just can't live together. Ain't fun when one of the partymembers become unhappy and leave just when you need him and you can't get another NPC. I think in the game you have to make a choice. Good/Neutral or Evil/Neutral.
This is what happens when bad meets evil - Eminem
TIN_MAN Wed, 2nd May '01, 11:07am I was afraid to take Edwin(Lawful Evil int 18) in my party because of Minsc(Chaotic Good int 9). These two are like fire and water, just don't match! I thought. But it was fun! It is good to combine good and bad characters and watch there conflicts. A great interaction I say!
Lothar Fri, 4th May '01, 12:36am I think you can have some mix. Edwin may be a bit far, but if you play a neutral character, you can take some of the borderline people (no LG or CE), but that leaves Viconia as a possibility with Minsc in the party. In P & P i've played games of that sort of mix. If makes things more interesting, spices things up.
Melkhior Thu, 24th May '01, 11:29pm Itīs great mixing Evil with good! always!
joacqin Sat, 26th May '01, 1:09pm Doesnt Edwin mix with the o so good paladin Keldorn? Im playnig a scrupulos assassin and he dont give a sh*t about alignmet he takes who he thinks he needs and Edwin is the best mage and Keldorn is supertank
