View Full Version : Another test - this one is heavy
teekc Mon, 29th Nov '04, 11:25am http://www.politicalcompass.org/
Series of questions to measure your political attitude regarding econimical and social issues. A fun test to play, especially comparing the result with the international icons.
As for my own result,
Ha, i knew it! "If there is a person who is god before he dies, let this person be Ghandi" by me. See how his teaching influenced me?
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -4.75

Hugo Mon, 29th Nov '04, 12:00pm (PS: This test has been featured on SP before... I remember being pissed with the results then, seem about right now)
*grin* I got:
Economic: Right wing, 1.12 <- seems about right, had expected it to be more... extreme. Oh well.
Social: Libertanian, 1.23 <- same as the above. I get chastised pretty much by every 'authority holder' for mocking their authority, whenever I start talking.
:borg:

Register Mon, 29th Nov '04, 4:24pm Well, XWT, you must remember, you are still an extremist in Sweden, but in USA, you are just a good ol' republican.

LEFTIE! and proud!
I did this a few years ago, and found myself closest to Ghandi...
Nakia Fri, 28th Jan '05, 2:03pm Economic left/right = -3.38
Social Libertariam/authoritarian = -3.13
About what it was last time.
chevalier Fri, 28th Jan '05, 2:17pm Well, -2.88 and -2 this time.
toughluck Fri, 28th Jan '05, 5:21pm I've got ca. 1 and 1. That's about right, though that compass is not really representative of most countries' politics. Besides, many issues simply do not show up there. I would say that my score should be "1 and above" and "1 and above." On my Sociology university course, we have debated 3D and 4D compasses, with additional axes splitting social and economical into additional categories, or 3D model adding something distinctive, but I cannot remember it right now...
Either way, I wound up closest to G. Schroeder. Is it me, or is it just me?
Fara Sat, 29th Jan '05, 2:00am Wow. I'm so close to Gandhi.
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -4.75

Seems pretty close to right.
EDIT: Corrected spelling of "Gandhi;" didn't even realize I had typed it the way I had.

Shrikant Sat, 29th Jan '05, 4:56am This site has been posted here quite often. And its Gandhi, Fara.
Economic Left/Right: -0.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79
Closest is the Dalai Lama.
I thought I was more to the right than that. Maybe it is that the left here is so warped, I passionately hate those idiots.

I guess this means my political compass is pointing pretty much due south! :hmm: Well, it seems about right . . . Not that bothered with economics, but po'd with law & governments in general!
Oh, and a big SP 'Howdy' to xzeon2000: welcome to the jungle!
Arendil Sun, 20th Feb '05, 1:21am Hmm.....
Economic Left/Right: 0.13
Social Lib/Autor: -0.97
Nearly at the center....but many questions are too open ended and not clear....also with some *very* strange results like Pope John Paul II ( my main, well, in fact only authority...) in the same part as Saddam and Stalin !??? So it doesn't say anything about most important things...
Turandil Mon, 21st Feb '05, 6:00pm I have taken this test quite i few times, and I usually score something around:
Left/Right -9.85
Libertarian/Authorian: -8.0
Compare to most here Iam quite extreme. :)
Well, Iam accually quite influenced by left-/council communism; Mattick, Pannekoek, Bordiga, Dauvé, etc. So this test might fit somewhat well I believe. The right square atleast.
But even though the extra dimension, these test will never be even close to perfect. Personally, I think all the right/left grades are generally quite useless. Well, this test is far better than most though.
