View Full Version : That’s the Way the Cookie Crumbles Taluntain Sat, 5th Feb '05, 2:02am http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6914824/ What heartless wretches... Unbelievable. netdiver Sat, 5th Feb '05, 2:13am people complain about people not doing enough nice stuff for their community, so someone does and they're repayed with a lawsuit. The main reason a lot of people stopped helping people who were injured in accidents or critically wounded. People were suing for damages. Ridiculous Zurga Sat, 5th Feb '05, 2:14am Well people are just too touchy these days. I know I'm a little to sensetive at times, but I'm working on that. And I know it's just me, I'm not gonna sue anyone for it. Celesialraven Sat, 5th Feb '05, 2:46am All i can say is that it figures. People whine about the lack of humanity in modern cities and towns, and the lack of interaction among residence, but this is exactly why. What benifit is there for one to help their neighbour when in doing so, one makes themselves a target. If kindness and generacity are the modern equivilient to exposing your throat, and greedy heartless crones of neighbours have become preditors, then the two will continue to not only ignore each other, but feel satisfaction when one is laid low by some plight. I bet that by the end of the court case those girls were imagining what it would have been like if the women had indeed keeled over from a heart attack. Blackthorne TA Sat, 5th Feb '05, 3:02am That is one of the most bizarre things I've ever heard! Is it illegal to knock on someone's door and not answer when the resident asks "who's there?"? I don't think so. Why is it the two girls' fault that this 49 year old woman is so frightened of nothing? I would expect a 5 year old child to be afraid of shadows and the boogie-man, not a grown woman. I just can't believe this. It makes me sick. Shalladeth Sat, 5th Feb '05, 3:17am “The victory wasn’t sweet,” Young said. “I’m not gloating about it. I just hope the girls learned a lesson.”Yeah, they learned a lesson all right. Next year, they're going to that dance and there will definitely be cursing and drinking! Methinks that if I were living near that neighborhood back when I was a little mischievous kid, I'd definitely be leaving a flaming bag of poo on her front doorstep! I bet that lady is going to really be hating life around Halloween! Nakia Sat, 5th Feb '05, 4:06am Granted that 10:30 at night is a little late to be delivering treats but that woman still overacted. The parents offered to pay the medical expenses but she had to sue. At least the Judge only awarded her what she was offered + $39.00 court costs. Hacken Slash Sat, 5th Feb '05, 4:49am So, this all means that you're in favor of the "Bush torte reform" legislation? Wow, I feel safer already. chevalier Sat, 5th Feb '05, 7:46am Yeah, they learned a lesson all right. Next year, they're going to that dance and there will definitely be cursing and drinking!Yeah. The teenagers’ families offered to pay Young’s medical bills, but she declined and sued, saying their apologies were not sincere and were not offered in person.Well, the woman finally got her chance to matter anything and would you expect her to let go of it so easily? Damn, she has a serious attitude problem. “The victory wasn’t sweet,” Young said. “I’m not gloating about it. I just hope the girls learned a lesson.”There will be no gloating about it, but will she learn her own lesson before her hour comes? There's not a lot of time left... Gnarfflinger Sat, 5th Feb '05, 7:57am I guess this person wants an 11th commandment: Thou Shalt not give a Rat's Ass... Ragusa Sat, 5th Feb '05, 10:30am Wow, now imagine someone as paranoid with a shotgun - he would have perhaps blasted the girls right through his door, just to be safe. I wonder what can turn people into frightened little chickens ... too much reality tv? Too much crime time? Bleh. I start to think Michael Moore really had a point with his "culture of fear". Warrior of the World Sat, 5th Feb '05, 10:44am So the woman was 49? Wow. From what I read, with her reaction etc. I would have guessed she was at least 80. joacqin Sat, 5th Feb '05, 11:39am Same here warrior, I thought it was a 95 year old woman with a heart condition who went into shock or something. I also thought the same things Ragusa brought up. How can anyone be that afraid? HS, I am suspicious of anything coming from the Bush II regime, care to enlighten a fool about that torte reform? Shrikant Sun, 6th Feb '05, 3:46am What ever were the girls thinking. Baking cookies for the neighbours  Does that woman live alone. No wonder if she does. And at 49 only to boot  Found this link on the same page Nude juice bar sqeezes past legislation (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6902875/) ROTFL Nakia Sun, 6th Feb '05, 4:15am If they pass a law so that the guy can't operate the juice bar anymore he can start an adult art school. The 49yr old cookie woman probably lives alone, never had any children and is neurotic. (I was going to post something a little different but thought it might be censored  ) chevalier Sun, 6th Feb '05, 4:27am But what is it with health clubs that allows nudity like in art schools? |
