Doesn't look unreasonable to me. Children's health concerns (infection risk) and even privacy stand above people's desire to look at them.

This is ridiculous! Infection is prevented by putting the babies behind glass - as in the large window into the nursery that every hospital I've ever been at has. It allows the babies to be admired while being protected, and limited access to the are behind the glass adds extra security. When babies "room-in", they get to eb cooed over by the mother's visitors, who are coming there to see the baby anyway.

But the town's Labour MP Linda Riordan said the move was "bureaucracy gone mad". She said: "All mothers want people to admire their babies because all babies are beautiful. But in a case where a mother did not want to answer questions it should be up to that individual to say so." This lady's got a clue.

Liberalism; it's always good for a laugh. Violating the babies human rights? The only thing the babies are thinking of is their next meal and diaper change.
