Bonus points for naming two nordic death metal bands who have covered it. :p BOC Tue, 2nd Mar '04, 9:50pm I don't know them because I don't like death metal but as a wild guess I would say At The Gates. IIRC they are the ones who butchered Manowar's "Blood of my enemies", so perhaps they did the same with Iron Maiden as well. :D Let's continue with a classic: Don’t come running to me, I know I’ve done all I can A hard loving woman like you Just makes a hard loving man Baldrak Wed, 3rd Mar '04, 12:16am Whitesnake - Fool For Your Loving Darhken Rahl Wed, 3rd Mar '04, 8:59pm Kind of late, but would arch emeny be one of them? Baezlebub Thu, 4th Mar '04, 7:26am Thin Lizzy - Out in the Fields Best quote I ever heard from Thin Lizzy was: "What does it feel like to be black and Irish?" "Like a pint of Guiness." Anyway, new quote: Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be Now they will see what will be, blinded eyes to see BOC Thu, 4th Mar '04, 8:09am Actually "Out in the fields" is a Gary Moore's song, but many people think that it belongs to Thin Lizzy because Lynnot was one of the composers and had done the lead vocals of the song. Anyway nevermind. As for your quote "For whom the bell tolls" by Metallica. You’re wishing that the hands of doom Could take your mind away And you don’t care if you don’t see again The light of day Darhken Rahl Fri, 5th Mar '04, 8:49pm Time for a hint i'd say) If noone responds to lyrics within one day can i post new lyrics? Edit: Well, given that Vyndin seems to have disappeared, I'll give a hint. I had this album on 8-track tape (so that will give the era) and the band is named after a city or state in the US. As an added hint, a line from the #1 hit song on the album (not the song that I quoted) was quoted in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. She can't stop pacing She never felt so alive Her thoughts are racing Set on overdrive It takes a village This she knows is true They're expecting her And she's got work to do He helplessly stands by It's meaningless to try As he rubs his red-rimmed eyes He says I've never seen her get this bad Even though she seems so high He knows that she can't fly And when she falls out of the sky He'll be standing by She was raised in a small midwestern town By a charming and eccentric loving father She was praised as the perfect teenage girl And everyone thought highly of her And she tried everyday With endless drive To make the grade Then one day She woke up to find The perfect girl Had lost her mind Once barely taking a break Now she sleeps the days away She helplessly stands by It's meaningless to try All she wants to do is cry No one ever knew she was so sad Cause even though she gets so high And thinks that she can fly She will fall out of the sky But in the face of misery She found hopefulness Feeling better She had weathered This depression Much to her advantage She resumed her frantic pace Boundless power Midnight hour She enjoyed the race And also I'm not sure but they seem to be a mostly European band, but if I get it here in Australia (the last place to get anything music related) then you can probably get it anywhere Ok this is probably too obscure so I'll try another one.
