I used to hate soundtracks. They usually have one or possibly two songs that I like, otherwise the rest of the songs just suck, unless being over-shadowed by massive amounts of gunfire in the movie. Then I recieved the soundtrack for 'The Wedding Singer' and I loved it. Most of the songs on the two cds were songs that I grew up with, and other I've never heard before, but I still liked most of them. Then the soundtrack to Orange County came out, and being from the OC, I felt obligated to rent it, and to see the movie. I liked both.

Now I rent a ton of soundtracks from the library.

My favorite is still 'The Wedding Singer' soundtrack...how about you? :rolling:

Grease.
Les Miserables.
Pulp Fiction.
Star Wars (all of them)
The Lord of the Rings (all of them)
The Big Chill.
The Wedding Singer.
High Fidelity.

But I agree with your earlier sentiment that most soundtracks are actually pretty lame and often pointless.

Surprisingly, Dracula 2000 has a not terrible soundtrack - especially surprising, because that movie was... smelly.

Otherwise... hmm...

Matrix, All of the Star Wars and LoTR soundtracks, Wedding Singer, and various and sundry other movies that I have seen along the way.

It was a big surprise for me that Underworld has good soundtrack, because the film itself didn't impress me so much.

Other good ones I've listened to recently are LotR, Matrix (Reloaded) and Pirates of the Caribbean.

My favourite soundtrack is from "Conan the Barbarian", where Polydouris has done an excellent work. "The Shocker" has a good soundtrack as well (Megadeth's cover on Alice Cooper's "No more Mr. Nice Guy", Bonfire's "Sword and stone" etc.) even if the movie was crap.

I've been making my new film (Spearhand Reloaded, the Spearhand sequal - a Matrix and Gladiator parody), and so I've been listening a lot to the Matrix soundtracks for the combat music, and I like what I heard. Also, the Kill Bill soundtrack is good too.

My favourite soundtrack is from "Conan the Barbarian", where Polydouris has done an excellent work I will second that BOC. The music is great as a stand alone and did a remarkable job of setting the tone of the film. It is just a shame that no one takes it seriously due to the film that it was in.

The Blues Brothers soundtrack is probably my favorite (its sequel also has some fine music). Besides that, I also like the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack.
