Sometines i wish Eric Claptons kid didn't die because i really hate the song "TEARS IN HEAVEN".

It's a beautiful song, what's there to hate about it?

Why hate it?

Reason 1: It is sung by Eric clapton
Reason 2: I't to goddamn slow
Reason 3: I'ts not depressing
Reason 4: I'ts way to poppy
Reason 5: Why are artists bothering us with the deads of ther family?
Reason 6: it just sucks!

Allright forget reason 5 I probebly would have done the same, but then with a good song...

Ok I don't know what you've got against Eric Clapton but 'Tears in Heaven' is one of the most beautiful, amazing, sad, songs that I have ever heard.

Also it's too 'poppy'? Well I would suggest you listen to some 'pop' music and tell me how you can say Tears is a poppy song?

Oh and yes it is depressing, but also uplifting. Strange yet wonderful.

I hate most of Avril's music but she is such a nice and cute girl. To Quote her "I'm not a pop chick, I'm a Rock chick!" Higly adorable!

IMHO A Whiter Shade of Pale is the closest thing to your description of Tears in heaven. Just play both songs and you find out tears is way to easy while A Whiter Shade of Pale has some real emotion to it... Know what I mean?

I agree with Sarevok Anchev. Avril Lavigne is ugly, and I'll add that she's a tool and a wannabe. Her dad owns the record company.

Anyway, Tears in Heaven isn't bad, it's actually a pretty good song. That means a lot coming from me, considering it's not even my genre.

Look. His child took a header out of a building. It would be weird if he didn't write a song about it.

Well it is hard not listening to it when they play it on almost every radio station and on my work. I can't say hey turn down the music I don't want to hear Tears in heaven!

Sleepless, from your reasons indeed, I must say that you have a pretty shallow view on music.

There isn't anything wrong with pop music, slow music, not depressing songs.

If you say that you don't like the song then fair enough but to dislike a song due to specific prequisites ... well, thats just silly.

Its a piece of music, entertainment even that carries a message. Its up to you if you want to pick up on the message and enjoy the music that Eric has made.

As for Avril Lavigne, she is one hot chick, let me rephrase, she is one hot ROCK chick :p

@SleepleSS, I can understand why can't seem to like the song because it has been played too many times, you can't turn it off, and you can't see through the message. How about you use a walk/discman, and play the music you like. It's better than thinking of lousy reasons to hate Clapton and his song.

I never say I hated Clapton I hate Tears in heaven and just dislike Clapton.

I said I didn't like tears in heaven becaus it was poppy to slow and not depressing But I didn't mean that I only like song's that aren't poppy or slow, and must be depresing. I just think a song about the dead of your son should sound depresing and not like some catchy poppy tune people sing when they are waiting for the bus.

Eric Clapton made some great tunes and he plays a mean guitar, period.

Eric Clapton is very cool, very talented.

And as for the song, it never fails to either bring a tear to my eye or give me goosebumps. A very emotional and very beautiful song.

Eric is not my favorite, but his songs are 'music'. Poetic and touching. At least better than *boom* *boom* *boom* Rape me.

Too true MoN. There is talent there, and anyone who thinks that his music is crap because its not depressing, or is too slow, is entitled to their opinion. However, that doesn't make their opinion valid.
