View Full Version : Favourite Artist?
Clixby Sun, 21st May '06, 1:50am I was wondering if any of you guys have an artist whose work you especially like, eg. Salvador Dali, Picasso, etc.
I like Beksinski, myself. He's a Polish artist who died last year.
His art is extremely detailed, usually disturbing and incredibly engrossing.
I know it's trite, but there's a Wikipedia entry on him here. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beksinski)

Arabwel Sun, 21st May '06, 3:21am Ursula Vernon (http://www.metalandmagic.com/) is awesome, imo.
and she's nice, to boot :)
kuemper Sun, 21st May '06, 2:50pm I always liked Georgia O'Keefe (http://www.artchive.com/artchive/O/okeefe.html) from the moment I knew about her in art class in high school.
My 2 best paintings are inspired by her works: Cow's Skull with Calico Roses (http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Twentieth-Century-Art-Masterpieces-Georgia-O-Keeffe-Cow-s-Skull-with-Calico-Roses-Posters_i1250780_.htm) and A Pink Cala (http://www.cwrl.utexas.edu/~bump/E379S/fall97/windy/gokeefe/pkcala.html).

Takara Sun, 21st May '06, 3:41pm Well, I do like Salvador Dali, Monet, and Bruegal.
Kitrax Mon, 22nd May '06, 10:16am Clyde Caldwell (http://www.clydecaldwell.com/pages/gallery.html) is a good fantasy artist...but he can't compare to the skill and talent of Kit Rae. (http://www.kitrae.net) His swords, daggers, and other fantasy weaponry are only overshadowed by his awsome fantasy art.
As for tradisional artists...Thomas Kinkade is alright. :rolling:
Death Rabbit Mon, 22nd May '06, 10:43am Rene Magritte, no question.
Jack Funk Mon, 22nd May '06, 4:02pm I can only get it down to two: Pablo Picasso and Claude Monet.
DarkStrider Mon, 22nd May '06, 4:25pm I have never been able to separate Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso runs them a close third.
SatansBedFellow Fri, 26th May '06, 6:04pm Anyone from amongst; Nicholas Roerich, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Ivan Yakovlevich Bilibin, and Toriyama Sekien.
T2Bruno Fri, 26th May '06, 6:20pm I went to the Art Institute of Chicago last year. The most amazing room was the one with Monets. The colors in the room were breathtaking. I've never just stopped and looked at the entire room of art before.
Undertaker Fri, 26th May '06, 6:43pm Luis Royo (http://www.luisroyo.com/ihomeroyo.htm) :)
Daie d'Malkin Fri, 26th May '06, 8:04pm Dammit, Undertaker got there before me. Luis Royo is great, I've got the '06 calender on my wall, which scares my roommate.
