I managed 3 right answers, then I gave up.

Not bad. I think most of the riddles are quite obvious. I'm just not good with horror movies.

I'm on 31 at mo. There are some I just don't have a clue with.

I got 26 now. Some are just to hard for me.

I feel that I should know the guy with the lamp and Death. But no title I remember fits.

I figured the guy with the lamp as The Shining.

I can't think what the death guy is though...

Right, got all of em... the bloody bats had me confused though... it took me 15 minutes to realise they were bloody BIRDS!

Managed to get 40.

As Barmy Army says, some I don't have a clue about - I think the two men on the 39 steps is probably the most difficult (for me).

I got to 40 before I realized I'd just wasted nearly 30 minutes. ;)

I'll try again tomorrow. The ones that are killing me are the green M&M girl, the lady dangling her kid, and the pencil guy in the corner. If anyone knows these, please drop me a hint - don't tell me outright. I feel proud to have gotten 40 on my own.

I have ground to a halt at 23. No idea about the M&M juggling the coins, the face in the tower, the guy with the basket on his head, or any of the ones that DR mentioned.

@ HB - two quick hints...

What kinds of coins are they, what do they add up to? Say it out loud.

What is the basket made of? (newer movie)

Lady with kids: I thought this was 'Mommie dearest'. As it turns out I was wrong but not by much...

I tried "Devil in a Blue Dress" and it didn't work. Another hint?

Oh yeah - and the tall house with the light on on the left hand side...killing me too. Also - have no idea about death in the circle fence thing. "Circle of Death" was a no-go. Also - the little dude with a telescope on the top floor of that shack. The dark passageway in the bottom right is also making my brain itch, because I'm sure it's incredibly simple.

As a side-note - Barmy, this is one of the coolest things I've seen online in a long time. Kudos.

DR Green M&M try a cloth type, death guy think Stephen King and guy with telescope think Hitchcock.

I've got 18 so far, and yes Barmy well done this is fun.

4, 6, 9 and 10 I still need good hints on. Vuk seems to be the only one to do really well here. And I STILL have no idea about the guy with a telescope. "Vertigo" is the closest I've come, and that's not it. I guess that, the mountain peak at the top and the tall house on the far left mean I have 7 left, not 5.

EDIT so now I'm down to 4. I figured out the mountain peak (or, should I say "peaks" ;) ) and for some reason the cabin I was talking about is no longer clickable, so my bad. So once I get the hints on 4, 6, 9, and 10 I should be a happy monkey.

I got 40 with the help of one of my co-workers. I'm baffled by the lady with the two babies and the one with the barrel of water...

I'm on 37 at mo. A few that I BET are really easy, but I just can't nail.... the Baby on its back clutching at what appear to be leaves.... the 3 kids dancing... the basket guy... death in the graveyard... the stairs... and the two guys back to back on the stairs... and the 2 sweetcorn guys... argh!

I'm up to 34. What's up with the planets? I've tried "Clash of the Titans" and "When Worlds Collide," both unsuccessfully... Both fish are leaving me blank, and the candle. I'm still blank (pun not intended) on the men with the O's. Other than that I think I'm most stuck on the same ones that have been mentioned before.

I'm up to 41. The bottom right corner is hard. I've no clue about the guy with the baskets, the chained guy, the pencil guy, the black hole and the golden thing with shovels. Let's see what else; the two guys on the stair, the howling wolves, and Mars and Jupiter.

I don't know the woman with the two 'kids' either, but if you ask me, one looks more like a monkey.


Barmy, that aren't two corn guys, since they got all kinds of baby corn with them. And look at Colthrun's hint (thanks, didn't have that one either) for the three dancing kids.

Rally, one fish is a ... and the other isn't a fish, it's more like a different sort of creature. And do you mean the candle in the shape of a house? (That's also already a hint). The 'O'-men require a bit of creative thinking :)

I have started a new tactic. I am thinking of famous 'dark movies' and then trying to find the clues that fit. I have found two more that way.

Still can't get any of the ones involving stairs.

Alright, I used Google to find the last five (or else curiosity would've kept me up all night). I never heard of the dark cave and the basket man ones. I should have gotten the straight jacket one. I've heard of the back to back guys, but never would have gotten the clue, and the mommy with the kiddos was just lame.

I'm still surprised I got as many as I did, considering I probably saw about ten movies from that list (yeah, I know, I don't know my classics, but I'm not a big horror fan).

And DR, you will see Vukodlak's hint was actually quite useful, when you know the answer. Prepare to hit yourself on the head.

Anyway, finally I got it all. It was quite difficult, as I didn’t know many of the movies and some that I knew I didn’t know their original titles.

I got stuck for a long time with the mom and the two kids, someone said that it was the same kind of hint used with the coins so I kept thinking that it had to be Carie 2. :)
