View Full Version : Windows for Australians
Jaguar Sun, 21st Mar '04, 12:18am And old, though funny link, giving Australians the chance to work with Windows without having to try to understand 'American english'. Say hello to Windaz 2000 (http://www.stuffucanuse.com/aussie_windows/aussie_windows.htm).
*CAUTION*
This link contains some foul language and may be offensive to some Australians. Reader discretion is advised.
Pac man Sun, 21st Mar '04, 11:15pm Already saw something similar once. It was Windaz TwoThoosand for Geordies. Pretty funny stuff.
Faerus Stoneslammer Mon, 22nd Mar '04, 10:04am LOL!
Very amusing...gonna have to send it to my aussie friends...err, friend.
Baezlebub Mon, 22nd Mar '04, 12:33pm Very funny. Although, I do have one problem.
Microsoft wants to help YOU Australians.
Don't be forced to use confusing American software apps1
Any proper Aussie thing would say "Microsoft wants to help YOUSE Australians.
Icingdeath45 Tue, 23rd Mar '04, 1:11am ROFL! very amusing..havta send it to my cousin who livees in australia ; P
Aldazar Wed, 24th Mar '04, 2:53am ROTFLMAO!! :shake:
The only thing I'd nitpick about is that all self-respecting Aussies know that it's spelled "strewth" not "streuth".
Ohter than that though, that's some damn funny stuff.
Harbourboy Wed, 24th Mar '04, 7:30am Also hilarious is the link at the bottom of that page to this:
Australia Moves North in Fit of Pique (http://www.stuffucanuse.com/aussie_windows/am.htm)
Classic, especially the bits where Florida breaks off, and where NZ was considering invading Australia.
Icingdeath45 Wed, 24th Mar '04, 9:05pm rofl, gotta send that one too ; )
Aldazar Thu, 25th Mar '04, 3:20am That's exactly something we would do too. You never know what an Aussie will do after a blinder.
Fiatil Thu, 25th Mar '04, 3:47am lol nice page, I saw something similar to the australia moves north on satirewire.com, gotta show the windaz 2000 to my australian friend.
Wordplay Thu, 25th Mar '04, 12:24pm Where has that ****ing file gone? Pretty fitting description for help-pointer. :shake:
Judas Fri, 26th Mar '04, 8:01am Not too bad - they did mess a few things up, though. Someone has already pointed out "strewth". They use "You Ripper" incorrectly... this isn't an exclamation of annoyance; it's the Aussie version of "you rock". They managed to misspell “bugger” (it’s not “buggar”) and the IE icon should really read “Porn” instead of “Cartoons”.
Jaguar Fri, 26th Mar '04, 10:14pm Actually, there was one that read porn instead of cartoons for the IE icon, but I went with the more toned down one. ;)
