I recently downloaded a free virus scanner that I heard was pretty good. The problem is that my scanner keeps freezing at a particular file number and I can't use the programs forum for english speakers because I have to register in german and I'm having some problems doing that.

The program is called AntiVir Guard and the forum website is http://www.free-av.de/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi

My German isn't the greatest but I think i can give you the gist of the form:
Angezeigter Benutzername: the name others will see (I'm pretty sure)
Bestätigen eMail-Adresse: confirm email address
Ort:Location
Beruf: occupation
Ihr Benutzerbild: your userpicture (insert a link)
Signatur: signature for end of messages. I think the rest of it says you can use UBB but not HTML
Questions: (ja=yes nein=no)
May the administrator or moderators send you emails?
Do you want your email address to be visible?
Do you want you (evaluation) to be visible?
(I don't know Bewertung and evaluation is what my dictionary gives me so maybe a ranking of some sort)
May other users send you private messages?
Would you like to me notified via Email when you get a private message?
Standard Display:
The drop down is "topics from the last xx days" with the bottom being all topics

That's all pretty much accurate. What i'm curious about is, couldn't you find a decent English written program ?

AntiVir is in english, the forum is in german... and the program works quite perfectly.

Yup, never had any problems with Antivir and I'm using the free version for over a year now.

Thank you. Actually I discovered the reason I wasn't successful at registering. I only put my email address one and didn't confirm it. I now have posted my question and I'm waiting for a result.

Try avast (http://www.avast.com/) instead. Great and completely free.
