If you (the real you) were going to take a six-month road-trip, which 5 npc's would you take with you, and where would you go?

Trekking through Nepal, I would take
Minsc- Ranger=good, and he's funny.
Yoshimo- I'm assuming he'd have thiefly climbing skills, and he's willing, just ask him.
Jan- Ditto climbing skills, and he's funny.
Cernd- Useful in the wilderness, and nice to look at.
Keldorn or Valygar- Valygar would probably be more useful in the wild. And I'm not counting on doing lots of slaying.

I would not take Nalia- too many opportunities to whine about the oppression of the unfortunate.

I would not take Aerie- too many opportunities to whine.

Yes! Much much better than Minsc and Boo, imo too, for a real tantric trip. :cool:

If it could be possible...I would take with me:
---The Beholder Spectator!!!(he's the funniest thing in the game)
---Minsc...(come on, Boo is a real space giant hamster)
---Yoshimo...(he loves talking to everyone)
---Mazzy...(she's the purest humanoid being in the game...I love her)
---Solaufein...(a most honorable drow...and very powerful too!)
That's it...that would be a great party...

Just a thought: Aren't halflings considered demi-humans?

If I would go, I'd probably take:
Yoshimo - I like the guy, he's just cool.
Valygar - His ranger skills might come in handy (and he's got a katana!)
Keldorn - Paladins are cool
Imoen - A mage might come in handy...
Viconia - :love:

If it must be in the real world, I'd just walk around here in Finland. If not, most any fantasy world would do (preferably Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance)

I don't want Yoshi in my party.

Those who have finished Spellhold should know what I'm talking about.

But on the topic - I'd take along Haer'Dalis, and ask him to show me Sigil. I'd take along Aerie and Minsc just for the heck of it.

NPCs I would take along,

Jaheira - as far as NPCs go, I'm just so in love with her.
Imoen - has that certain spunk of personality that anybody could enjoy.
Minsc - friendly enough.
Keldorn - I always admire someone who has a certain elderly dignity.
Valygar - not very sociable, but I can always respect someone who's both introspective and respectful enough not to barrage you with uninvited conversation.

NPCS I definitely wouldn't take along.

Anomen - I use him in my good party. In real life, few things have grated on my nerves more than a football-jock type who carries so much swagger that he feels the need to knock everybody else down.
Nalia - As far as political views go, I hover somewhere around the center, veering slightly to the left. At the same time though, I don't discuss my world views unless invited to, and I certainly know when not to force feed them.
Korgan - an enjoyable NPC for an evil party, but who in their right minds would willingly associate with someone known to have a sociopathic lust for blood?
Jan Jansen - I'm normally not, if ever, a violent person. But anybody who has this much trouble taking a hint about canning the idiotic stories about turnips and such ...
Edwin - same vein as Anomen.

Just my thoughts ...

I'd backpack across Europe and Asia, and I'd take:

Jan -- The man is a hoot, and wouldn't hurt people unless they really deserved it -- behind that silliness is a shrewd mind and a solid friend. Just look at his dialogue after he loses his girlfriend -- not a single turnip comment, just a statement of fact "if he hurts her, I will hurt him."

Aerie -- Romance. And she's hot. I go for innocence, or I did in my dating days.

Cernd -- he'd be good in the woods, and his flair for the language appeals to me.

Imoen -- good sense of humor, and Aerie would want some girl companionship.

Maybe Keldorn, too. Not Jaheira (too bossy), not Anomen (too self-righteous), and not Viconia (she scares me -- that is one evil chick!) Nalia I'm neutral on, same as Yoshimo -- the fact I speak Japanese a little might make it fun to have him around, but he's a little weird, let's face it. Certainly not Korgan, he's a psycho with morals worse than those of my mother-in-law.

To which I would take Yoshimo, Imoen, Jan, and Nalia, for obvious reasons. And I think I would round the group off with Edwin/a. S/he could provide ample cover and distraction, as well as having many comments to make.

For gambling, I'd "bet" on Jan and Yoshi. Immy and Nalia would probably be better off sticking to con games. Their charismas are decent, as long as Nalia doesn't drive the marks away nattering on about the less fortunate. I'd promise a percentage would go to the poor later, if she zips it for now.

If I had the skill and the free time, I'd right in a romance mod for Anomen and Nalia. Don't their arrogance and patronizing attitudes seem like a perfect match?

Would go to Japan and take along Minsc, Imoen, Kelsey, Edwin and Vally.

Not Aerie, cause she is a stupid whiner.
Not Anomen, cause he annoys me.
Not Jaheira, cause I hate her. Oh blaah.
Not others, cause dunno.

Vegas is a hilarious option! I'd bump Jan's charisma with the Ring of Human Influence and have him fast-talk a crooked game of poker or blackjack.

Why him? Edwin, at least, is funny. And he probably wouldn't kill you unless there was a real advantage to it. But how would you get any sleep with Sarevok around?

Jan - a must have, his stories are just too good :)
Minsc - Boo would look funny in the deep snow, huh :)
Imoen - hey, why not take little sis with you?

hmm, lets see, it wouldnt matter where im going i would take:

korgan, edwin, viccy, bodhi, and jon irenicus... imagine the fun a complete bunch of homicidle megalomaniacle and downright evil travellers would have together once they start talking to the locals...
and viccy would have to come just so i could get some totty on the side

To nepal I would take:

Jan: he is just plain funny
Edwin: imagine the conversation between the two.

Now too Vegas:

Saemon: he will be a rich man when he leaves.
All the drow in Ust Natha: I'd reckon they are good at the gambling part.
