Martin Strel finished the project which some deemed crazy, others impossible and for many, especially the Chinese, it was beyond comprehension. The finish was the place where the river meets the sea, a spot just 50 km (31 miles) away from Shanghai. Martin covered most of the world's third longest waterway and by doing so broke his own Guinness record from the Mississippi (3797 km/2360 miles). The new record is over 4,000 km.
This happened yesterday, and since Strel is a fellow countryman of mine, I though his remarkable achievement deserves some attention here. For some reason, the general press outside of Slovenia is completely ignoring this. I didn't think that just because it happened in China, Reuters or anyone else wouldn't even bother to cover it. Of course, I don't know if there was any coverage in the US when he swum the Mississippi either.
Well, either way, check out this link (http://www.siol.net/dogodki/MartinStrel/lang_context.asp?lang=1) for more information.
