View Full Version : Help paint my guitar
Sarevok• Sat, 4th Sep '04, 3:12pm I am having some trouble coming up with nice paintwork for my guitar, which I am going to have custom built. I would like to do it myself but I can barely even use MS paint let alone Photoshop etc.
If you come up with a something that I like enough to have painted on my guitar, I will pay you $50. Post your pictures here.
Here are pictures to work from if you are interested in helping me. It can be anything you like, even a plain color alone.

Taluntain Sat, 4th Sep '04, 9:46pm Though technically this could be in SS too, I'm moving it to Whatnots. You'll probably get more exposure there too.
Sir Belisarius Sat, 4th Sep '04, 9:50pm I like 4
chevalier Sat, 4th Sep '04, 10:26pm I also think 4 is the best one.
Hugo Sat, 4th Sep '04, 10:38pm Of the options posted, I like 4 the best.
On the issue of custom designing, it depends what kind of the music you like making on it... a glamrock guitar will look entirely different from a beatles-style guitar...
If you posted the names of a couple of bands whose style you like, it would help give a pointer in general ideas.
:borg:
Sarevok• Sun, 5th Sep '04, 1:29am  Mm they are not options, just something to edit in Photoshop. The only thing I am interested in is the paint on the body of the guitar. My guitar will look like all of those anyway except for the paint finish.
Sir Belisarius Sun, 5th Sep '04, 1:35am Well...I still like 4
Tassadar Sun, 5th Sep '04, 2:37am I'm not a big fan of BC Rich guitars (was a Jackson fanatic, but recent ESP convert), but they do have some cool body art on their axes.
Thhis one is my favourite. Very "Tool-y".

Rednik Sun, 5th Sep '04, 2:49am I'd have to say 3 is the coolest looking one is my opinion. Gotta love the radioactive green color.
hazefire Sun, 5th Sep '04, 4:32am What kind of music are you into? The colors and design ought to reflect that...
I'd love to help, I like painting but I'm not to good with graphics on the computer.
Sarevok• Sun, 5th Sep '04, 2:33pm The kind of music has nothing to do with it. I mean, if I could use Photoshop I would just mess with and eventually I would find something I like. I kind of don't want to have it painted and then see something a month later and think oh that would have looked really cool on my guitar. Painting costs a lot of money. If I can't find something better I will have it painted like this (http://jemsite.com/dl/virtualjem/vjems008.jpg)
Dice Sun, 5th Sep '04, 7:14pm Well, I think I might give it a try just for fun. Seems like an interesting challenge and I use photoshop a lot.
Jaguar Sun, 5th Sep '04, 7:43pm I agree with 3.
Splunge Wed, 8th Sep '04, 10:13am 2 or 4
Bion Wed, 8th Sep '04, 11:49am Well, if it were me, I'd...
1) Put the Ibenez on Ebay
2) Go buy a Les Paul
;)
Sarevok• Wed, 8th Sep '04, 8:03pm I don't like Les Paul's. The guitar won't be an Ibanez, it will look like a Jem sure but it will be custom made using exotic tone woods and other stuff you just can't get on Ibanez guitars or Les Paul's. Why would I pay thousands for a Les Paul or Jem when I can have one custom made using better woods and parts. You guys, I did not ask for your opinion on the pictures I asked you to make me a picture! Thanks anyway.
The Kilted Crusader Wed, 8th Sep '04, 9:36pm Although I know you're wanting a design, I was wondering where I could get hold of number four?
Sarevok• Wed, 8th Sep '04, 9:49pm You mean buy the guitar, that is not possible I am afraid, well it is but you would have to have it custom made which is the most sensible thing to do regardless of what guitar you want. Those guitars were actually modelled in 3dsMax. I only put them here as a sort of template to edit in Photoshop. Here are more pictures of the virtualjem (http://jemsite.com/dl/virtualjem/index.htm) guitars.
The Kilted Crusader Wed, 8th Sep '04, 9:54pm Thanks. You've got me hooked on getting a custom built guitar now though. Time to get saving.
Sarevok• Wed, 8th Sep '04, 9:59pm This (http://www.edromanguitars.com/) is the only place where you can have it done and done properly. It is not as expensive as you might think but it is expensive. I would advise you to go and read pretty much everything on that website. I would advise you not to look for any information off of them until you are completely ready.
P4TRiQ Mon, 20th Sep '04, 10:28am 4 is like, toltaly sweet. It owns man.
