View Full Version : Random Babbling Post #26 Beren Tue, 14th Sep '04, 1:20am Woohoo, I'm on a roll here ... Harbourboy Tue, 14th Sep '04, 1:29am Roll on then! chevalier Tue, 14th Sep '04, 1:42am Need some coffee, working at night :coffee: :coffee: Rallymama Tue, 14th Sep '04, 2:01am oooh, I can't resist! JSBB Tue, 14th Sep '04, 2:09am Just when I thought I had seen it all, someone just put a large bunch of Rocket Robin Hood episodes on-line, and there are actually 21 people downloading them right now. Laiwethel Tue, 14th Sep '04, 2:19am First day of classes went well. Although trying to take copius amounts of notes with an burnt hand is not my idea of fun. Oh well. Let the fun of class begin! chevalier Tue, 14th Sep '04, 3:01am Two weeks for me yet :) Gavin de Valge Tue, 14th Sep '04, 3:34am First time on first page of a Random Babbling! Classes have started and I have an absurd amount of work. This means, of course, less sleep  . Well, time to get back to my history essay... Harbourboy Tue, 14th Sep '04, 3:57am Wow - 2 hours and still not 10 posts in the new RB. Usually there are all sorts of people clamouring to get in the Top 10.... Oaz Tue, 14th Sep '04, 4:02am Taser taser kindergarten nap time. (random babble) chevalier Tue, 14th Sep '04, 4:09am Even chev needs sleep sometimes. Not enough elven blood, I guess. 'Night. Dark Haired Beauty Tue, 14th Sep '04, 5:47am Sleep is a symptom of caffeine deprivation. Aldazar Tue, 14th Sep '04, 5:54am No chance of caffeine deprivation here - a dozen or more cups a day for me. Actually, I probably have coffee running through my veins instead of blood by now. Harbourboy Tue, 14th Sep '04, 6:08am A dozen? How does anyone even have time to have a dozen cups of coffee in a day? I can barely be bothered to get up and make the one cup that I have a day. I think I would just feel bloated all day if I drank that much coffee (especially if they all came with lots of sugar and creamy milk). Aldazar Tue, 14th Sep '04, 6:18am Lots of time is a major side-effect of unemployment. Management of that time only comes after practice and 7 years of being unemployed. The coffee aspect of it is itself a side-effect of not liking the taste of most teas now. Dice Tue, 14th Sep '04, 7:08am I wouldn't call lots of time a side-effect. That insinuates something bad. Time is all we have and it's limited so enjoy it. You never know when you are going to run out. Jaguar Tue, 14th Sep '04, 8:26am One day I may drink cofee. Or I might skip the middle man and take caffine intravenously. /me hits ebay for an IV drip SleepleSS Tue, 14th Sep '04, 10:14am Coffee is the stuff that keeps the motor running for me! I think I have between 5 and 12 coffee a day, depending on if I have to work yes of no. I also drink energy drinks at school, not as good as coffee but almost dubbel the caffeine. Gonna phone some more companies today there must be one out their abel to help us! Midwinter Tue, 14th Sep '04, 10:47am Coffee is, for me, eternal torture. Everyone I know drinks it, and while it smells great, the taste is terrible. Tea's much better. Arabwel Tue, 14th Sep '04, 11:22am Well, i think it's annoying I couldn't reply in the last babble, but here goes... 1. It was an accident. The scissors were tangled in other stuff I was going to throw at her. 2. I think I made a spectacle out of myself, cooing at a computer wrapped in my coat in horrific rain, taking it from the car to the store.... she needed the coat more than I did, nbut I think I am sick again. 3. sociopath: A person affected with an antisocial personality disorder. Namely, someone to whom the constraints of society mean nothing, doesn't give a damn about anything anf the like. What can I say, I am insane. Am still waiting for the repaiir people o call me from the store. *sigh* chevalier Tue, 14th Sep '04, 11:28am Give us this day our daily coffee... I'm having my breakfast. Guess what? Sure, a cup of coffee. I suppose you also know what my lunch will be. Arabwel Tue, 14th Sep '04, 11:43am Did I forgot to mentiont hat I finally learned how to make coffee? But I still am not drinking it, it's just for the random guests. I invited my therapist to come see my new place, and have coffee... she's brtinging the munchies, and believe me, i am awaiting that... the local hospital cafeteria has the best pastries I'v ever had. I think I am getting domestiicated.... urgh. chevalier Tue, 14th Sep '04, 11:52am Seeing to things starts soon. Today is the dentist, tomorrow I'll have to go to uni and get my second year's papers stored. I still need to find two people and get them sign my index book so I would get credits for their classes. I don't need those to move on, but they are handy. I've moved that site (http://www.chevalier.boo.pl) of mine, but I still need to work on the Guestbook before making it available. Yeah, I'm going for my own one and dropping the free service I used for the old site. Deathmage Tue, 14th Sep '04, 11:58am Squeezed on first page... reepnorp Tue, 14th Sep '04, 1:18pm In honor of the World Cup of Hockey finals tonight I think I should have some fish for lunch and eat the Finns. Shrikant Tue, 14th Sep '04, 1:31pm Unfortunately donuts dont mix with coffee :wail: However there always are cookies :) Colthrun Tue, 14th Sep '04, 1:34pm My bike's rear wheel is broken, I'll have to walk home today... :( Arabwel Tue, 14th Sep '04, 1:35pm Reepnorp. you'd be lucky is you merely choked, since the FInns just might give you a severe case of indigestation  I wish I'd get my stupid TV to work... Dave the Magic Turtle Tue, 14th Sep '04, 1:38pm Coffee, Tea...bah, nastey foul beverages! As too cookies...well they are the most amazingly ingenious invention in the history of the ooniverse! So much pleasure from an edible circle...Amazing! *goes off to find cookies* chevalier Tue, 14th Sep '04, 2:14pm Coffee and tea. The first thing I ate today was dinner. Just meat. Now tea time and have to go. Will be back late afternoon or evening. BigStick Tue, 14th Sep '04, 2:48pm Babble, babble, babble. Somebody eat the fish, chop down the beanstalk, and send the astronauts into deep space. Go Cubs! :D Grovflab Tue, 14th Sep '04, 4:49pm Hockey... A bunch of grown up men skating around on ice like sissy little schoolgirls! :p Or it might just be because I have no understanding of that game either.... Hugo Tue, 14th Sep '04, 5:14pm Babble... I don't care much for coffee... I drink it from time to time to remind the multiverse really *does* suck... much better to have tea (a word of advice though... drink it, don't throw the pot and the floor/over the feet) PE was great today... I don't think I've ever climbed that much wall during our wall climbing classes... did a really hard one too, now my arms and hands are really aching. Still... feels good! :borg: EDIT: Just read up on the end of RB25... Faraaz, I have quite long (for a guy, anyways) hair... and my head has been itchy for years... not bugged or anything (I was the only person in our house *not* affected by a recent plague of hairlice (brought in by my lil' brothers *STUPID* school)) But it's just... itchy. OD's on brainwaves, I think [ September 14, 2004, 17:40: Message edited by: Big Bald Ranger ] Register Tue, 14th Sep '04, 5:48pm BBR, you have long hair for a guy you say, about how long is it? (The hair, you sickos!! ;) ) chevalier Tue, 14th Sep '04, 6:54pm Coffee... yes, I can get myself one. Why not. Sure. Shrikant Tue, 14th Sep '04, 7:13pm I got a new gem ... weee ;) Xei Win Toh Tue, 14th Sep '04, 7:20pm This is my post the number 666th. Better celebrate that with something fitting:  HAIL SATAN! SleepleSS Tue, 14th Sep '04, 7:38pm HAIL! I'm having an Ice Cream, that's nice in the fires of Hell! I made a mistake today pressing thje hot water bytton instead og Coffee :( Tea just isn't my cuop of tea :p . At least not in the morning, or before class... For those still intrested: Piepiep hasd gone on a new Adventure! Check al 5 of them out here: http://members.lycos.nl/undeadpoet Laiwethel Tue, 14th Sep '04, 8:08pm Wow, I need to review my Latin. Four months of not studying it can really set one back. Participles...gotta love them. :p Jaguar Tue, 14th Sep '04, 8:50pm Anybody notice that chev is stuck in a loop? Coffee, coffee, coffee, ect. :spin: BTW, Go Canada! chevalier Tue, 14th Sep '04, 9:04pm No, I'm getting some tea in a minute :p chevalier Wed, 15th Sep '04, 12:21am And another one right now. Seems I've made that evil Guestbook work. It doesn't even look that bad. Jaguar Wed, 15th Sep '04, 2:49am So tired.... Dice Wed, 15th Sep '04, 3:31am Hey! How did Chev manage to post one right after the other?!? At least we can be thankful they're not his usual 1 pagers. I do believe the insult thread is growing at over twice the speed of random babbling. JAGUAR!!!! WAKE UP Laiwethel Wed, 15th Sep '04, 3:34am I have a sinking feeling that taking four courses this term was a bad idea. There is going to be so much work to do, and so little time to do it. On another note, does anyone have any idea how long it takes for a 2nd degree burn to heal? chevalier Wed, 15th Sep '04, 3:36am Just switched to SP from my newest adventure: a paladin/sorcerer. Decided to take 3 levels in the paladin class and move on to sorcerer. No interesting threads, guess I'll have to go play IWD2 back. @Dragonfly: It's because I'm special. @Lai: About a week. Splunge Wed, 15th Sep '04, 3:40am Fin-land Sucks! Fin-land Sucks! Fin-land Sucks! (Hockey-related, for those not aware.) :p Laiwethel Wed, 15th Sep '04, 3:44am :rolling: :spin: Canada rules the world of hockey! /me starts singing "O Canada" chevalier Wed, 15th Sep '04, 4:27am All work for today done, nothing interesting going on and don't feel like playing IWD2 anymore. Time to bed, I guess. Uni paper job tomorrow. Stefanina Wed, 15th Sep '04, 5:56am @ Lai: Mine took about two weeks to heal. Of course, it was my right hand fingers, and I had to type all day, which did not help. Babble: I never really developed a true taste for coffeee. I may have four cups a year, and those are mostly in the winter when hot cocoa isn't available. In other news, looks like I get to escape this hurricane. It's no surprise, since I'm prepared for this one, it's not going to happen... Flooding is still a danger though, the river may not have crested yet. Shrikant Wed, 15th Sep '04, 6:59am Man I ran out of coffee! Guess I'll have to settle for Nescafe :( Harbourboy Wed, 15th Sep '04, 7:11am Nescafe is made of coffee, isn't it? Aldazar Wed, 15th Sep '04, 7:15am @Shrikanth - you say coffee and donuts don't mix? You must have been trying the wrong donuts. Go ask a cop for advice on which ones, I love donuts and coffee but have never had a problem unless I fall asleep while donut sits in coffee. I never thought I'd hear a band who could make Pearl Jam, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creed, Stevie Wonder and Wild Cherry sound the same. But it happened on Friday night. Also never thought I'd see a Jewish guy try to join the KKK by initially telling the Grand Dragon that he didn't do anything Jewish anymore, then saying that he's so white/blonde-hairded/blue-eyed that if he went to school with Hitler, he'd beat Hitler up for being a wog. But I saw that on Mondy night. And he got out in one piece. Aah, the weirdness that is John Safran. Jaguar Wed, 15th Sep '04, 7:47am /me wakes up Yeah Canada and such... Aldazar Wed, 15th Sep '04, 7:54am What's this Canada you guys keep mentioning? :p Maybe I need to buy another braincell to join the one I was born with. :xx: Jaguar Wed, 15th Sep '04, 8:14am That's an easy fix. Just slap an Immortality Ring around your noggin. :shake: BTW, Darkthrone, can you change your avatar? It makes me feel sorry for you everytime I look at it. Elios Wed, 15th Sep '04, 8:59am I once knew this couple from Alabama. He was tough and ruthless, she was rough and toothless. You know how long its been since I posted in a Random Babbling? My god. What is wrong with me? SleepleSS Wed, 15th Sep '04, 10:26am The night was full of stars drinking up hollywood, having fun with hookers and spent hours driving drunk to offroad atractions. Then there was that shot... and the president was gone! Taza Wed, 15th Sep '04, 10:51am @Splunge: Posting something like that when we're asleep? (well, all even somewhat remotedly sane finns are asleep. :p ) Colthrun Wed, 15th Sep '04, 11:12am Slept three hours last night, damn all interesting books... :coffee: Arabwel Wed, 15th Sep '04, 11:18am *reuses to admit that Canada exists* Grrr....... *sticks a hockey stick into Splunge's guts* *says lots of things that are unprintable* Let's see, rthe last week has been just fabulous.... mom disowns me, Jenova had to be senta away to be fized since the repair people were flummoxed, the stupid cat is refusing to be tamed and now THIS? *sigh* Life does indeed suck chevalier Wed, 15th Sep '04, 1:11pm Feeling violent, Ara? /me finishes off his tea and goes to the uni to set the papers straight... A la battaille! For gold and gore! Eerr... for gold and glory! :shake:  Arabwel Wed, 15th Sep '04, 1:34pm Of course I feel violent, i am currently on a sever OUATIM kick and thuus am channeling Sands... if I were still on a PotC kick and channeling Jack Sparrow, I'd be planning getting that bottle of rum I have stashed away and starting to drown my sorrows... but since it's Sands who's scaring the voices in my head away, I just plan to shoot the cook. Or possibly do something else, who knows. I'm just the product of my enviroment; my uncle sleeps with a shtgun under his bed. Rallymama Wed, 15th Sep '04, 2:08pm If anyone feels like RP-ing some badness, the Dark Side of Takara's new Pirates scenario is now accepting recruits. PM me or catch me in the FAI, or just start posting! Taluntain Wed, 15th Sep '04, 4:37pm So much stuff to do, but I've got a horrible headache that just won't go away. chevalier Wed, 15th Sep '04, 4:40pm Oh my, Aik tried to recruit me for the previous one, but I couldn't really afford reading into the setting and all. Might as well try now. I'm sort of a Norrington type. Edit: Poor Tal, hope you get well soon. I can put this den of mess to some order for you when you're down healing, if you wish   Xei Win Toh Wed, 15th Sep '04, 5:16pm EDIT: Eh, just posted my reply for the movie hero quiz here... gotta edit it away, so babble babble, homework sucks. Laiwethel Wed, 15th Sep '04, 6:02pm It seems that my Phonetics course is not what I expected it to be. It still looks interesting, but it's going to be complicated. Ah, linguistics. Hang on though, what can I do in life with a degree in Classics and an emphasis in Linguistics? SleepleSS Wed, 15th Sep '04, 8:38pm Don't try to fix me! I'm not broken! Finally I know that line is from Hello by Evenescense! Did some school work today but not much since I had an headache and slept for an hour almost drooling over my studiy books. I hope I can do some schoolwork this weekend! Splunge Wed, 15th Sep '04, 9:05pm BTW, Darkthrone, can you change your avatar? It makes me feel sorry for you everytime I look at it Actually, for some reason I can't quite put my finger on, I think his avatar is seriously cool. :thumb: Midwinter Wed, 15th Sep '04, 11:18pm My lower back aches. I've been Qi Gonging (I Qi Gong, he\she\it Qi Gongs, we Qi Gong, they Qi Gang, he\she\it Qi Ganged, we Qi Gangeded? I'm seriously confused now...) most of the evening. chevalier Wed, 15th Sep '04, 11:29pm Ah, linguistics. Hang on though, what can I do in life with a degree in Classics and an emphasis in Linguistics? When I last visited my school where I had classics, I told them I was writing gravestone inscriptions in Latin for people at the local cemetery. They believed. Shrikant Wed, 15th Sep '04, 11:46pm Wondering what the reason is for there being 34 posts to a page :borg: Midwinter Thu, 16th Sep '04, 12:39am Didn't the last have 35? Eh, no matter. Numbers. Grovflab Thu, 16th Sep '04, 1:06am Huh? Me like numbers.... Me thinks numbers are pretty.... Me like pretty little things.... Me be very silly and go to bed now.... Dice Thu, 16th Sep '04, 4:46am I received a heart-wrenching email from my friend today telling me that his mother passed away yesterday. I feel so sad for him. chevalier Thu, 16th Sep '04, 4:59am Condolences. Kelvon Shadowmane Thu, 16th Sep '04, 5:51am The essence of predetermination is purelly the basic step in the path to enlightment. (Kelvon, 29,04) ...am i going mad?... Aldazar Thu, 16th Sep '04, 6:57am **waves to Kelvon on my way back from going mad** Aahh, madness, I'll be back there soon, I never can seem to stay away long. SleepleSS Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:16am Feeling sick my throat is aching :( Hugo Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:44am Blech... off to school in 5 mins... no time to read all the RB... guess I'll put it off till this afternoon :borg: Jaguar Thu, 16th Sep '04, 10:47am Actually, for some reason I can't quite put my finger on, I think his avatar is seriously cool. :thumb: And for some reason I can't put my finger on, I am think that it was painted from a priest's PoV. :D SleepleSS Thu, 16th Sep '04, 1:28pm I feel like a stick sticking in somthing sticky! chevalier Thu, 16th Sep '04, 1:49pm The key to enlightenment is pain. With pain wisdom comes and those who know not true pain know not true wisdom. Those will not be englightened who have not suffered. [Chev 5, 67] Arabwel Thu, 16th Sep '04, 2:20pm Today has been a nasty day, but I did spend last night creatively... namely, writing. Am getting some of my last files out of the hellhole I was in before mom's attck, which is good... btu I still can't get ll of them :( Life sux. chevalier Thu, 16th Sep '04, 4:24pm Poor Ara :( Life truly sucks, but mine seems to have taken a break. I'm actually happy. Can't believe I am. Hugo Thu, 16th Sep '04, 4:55pm Arrr! I had written a big-ass post... then some popup appeared. And now it's all gone. Can't be bothered to rewrite. Keep breathing Ara... everything will eventually work out for better. (Well maybe it won't be at least you'll still be breathing) Had a great night last night - consequently, I feel miserable now... How shrill these contrasts are. At least it's almost weekend. Wow, I've RB'ed a decent bit afterall BTW Caleb, down to the bottom of the neck. So, not very long, but a *lot* longer then roughly 90% of all guys I know. :borg: Shell Thu, 16th Sep '04, 6:35pm Diets suck..... JSBB Thu, 16th Sep '04, 7:42pm Wow I'm impressed, I just received a client's accounting records - prepared using one of the major commercial accounting software packages, and they are out of balance. I am fairly certain that the software doesn't even allow you to post an unbalanced entry without having to override at least one error message. Also, one has to question why on earth the bookkeeper wouldn't notice this when the fact that the books are not balanced shows up in big bold print on the trial balance. To make things even better my request for an electronic copy of the computer files has resulted in my receiving - you guessed it - a big envelope full of printouts. Splunge Thu, 16th Sep '04, 7:50pm Well, I guess that explains why they are coming to you. :D Shrikant Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:13pm Guess they are trying to make you earn your fee :shake: Nizidramanii'yt Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:21pm I just ate some food.... (interesting) Funny you mentioned some parent being dead. A friend of mine had her dad deceased last week... And in school there was another mother (of some kid) who passed away too. A sad week, and for me too, for it was school. Well, if I should have learned more the other year, I would have finished school. Redoing a year isn't bad though, but I guess you people all left school life behind. (in some cases a long time ago) Also, do you have any hints on how to appear adult in forums other than typing grammatically correct. I am normally quite serious, but I think my post seem childish. (Help me, whine whine) Jaguar Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:26pm Just do what chev does. Talk about never sleeping, how relationships are hopeless, and how coffee and alcohol are the only two fluids you need. I thought he was 90 for the first few days I posted. :D Harbourboy Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:34pm It's 363 days until my next birthday. Nizidramanii'yt Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:34pm Imagine a 90 year old sage posting here. That's what we truly need. A forum sage... Who is the 'elder' here at the forum? Harbourboy Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:48pm There is a whole thread somewhere in SS surveying the age of SP members. We found 2 or 3 characters who were well into retirement but did not post regularly. I think we established that the mighty Splunge was the oldest regular (i.e. at least daily) poster. Splunge Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:55pm I think we established that the mighty Splunge was the oldest regular (i.e. at least daily) poster Yes, and trust me - when you get older, it's very important to be regular. :xx: SleepleSS Thu, 16th Sep '04, 9:59pm Johnny Ramone is dead! Shock! We will miss this Legendary Punkrocker! chevalier Thu, 16th Sep '04, 10:09pm Also, do you have any hints on how to appear adult in forums other than typing grammatically correct. I am normally quite serious, but I think my post seem childish. (Help me, whine whine)All respect people could possibly have for you will be worthless to you if you won't be able to respect yourself. The only way to earn your own respect is to bear with the truth as it is. Seek the truth and it shall make you free. Shrikant Thu, 16th Sep '04, 10:41pm Imagine a 90 year old sage posting here. That's what we truly need. Looking at his posts, I shudder to think how sage like Chev will sound like at 90. Then again at this rate he should be insane in a couple of years :shake: ejsmith Fri, 17th Sep '04, 1:44am * 1) You can buy a second copy of XP, and install it on a second partition or another physical drive. Use one without network support and Service Pack 1a, and the other with network support and Service Pack 2. Make a third partition to share games across. There are ways around buying a second copy, but it invoves clubbing baby seals and peeing in the kool-aid pitcher. NO ONE likes the individual who just peed in the kool-aid. 2. Use a Linux distribution. Use Linux for your internet needs, and SP1a for your Temple of Elemental needs. 3. Buy a second machine. There are $600 laptops down at Wally World that would run TToEE just fine. 15" LCD and shared system memory means you wouldn't want anything over 800x600, but that's what the game is designed for in the first place. Kind of expensive for one game, but you can use it for other things as well. Fairly cheap and compact Linux box. Harbourboy Fri, 17th Sep '04, 1:54am Um, should this be in the ToEE Board? Although taken out of context like this, it is a piece of random babbling so maybe it is OK. Aldazar Fri, 17th Sep '04, 4:45am I may actually get to see my now-7-year-old (his birthday is today) next Friday!! :thumb: Gotta be at the Family Court for a Family Report and I may even get to see him on the Sunday as well. if a miracle occurs that is. The only downside is that I have Contact scheduled with my youngest son that Sunday as well. :( Laiwethel Fri, 17th Sep '04, 5:18am I love choir so much. There were a lot of people there tonight, about twice what we had last year, which is a very good thing. What was exciting was that we actually had about six guys singing. Last year, we were lucky if we could get four guys to show up to rehersal. The one downside of choir is that I had to deal with the two most annoying people in the school for two hours. I get to see them at least once a week until April. Oh joy. Stefanina Fri, 17th Sep '04, 5:23am Well, the six counties in Forida that were not yet declared national disaster areas just got nailed by Ivan. Now the entire state is a national disaster area. And there's yet another one that could head this way... I am officially sick and tired of hurricane season. Harbourboy Fri, 17th Sep '04, 5:31am What a nightmare. Your hurricane is even front-page news in New Zealand. There's a big picture of it that takes up half of today's front page in The New Zealand Herald. Stefanina Fri, 17th Sep '04, 6:46am I believe it. I live in north central Florida, so I wasn't in the landing zone of Ivan. The west part of the Panhandle is what Ivan hit. It has destroyed many homes and businesses, and even an interstate highway bridge, amoungst other things.. My workplace is sending people out to cover the areas hit by Ivan, since many of the employees there have family members that were hurt/killed in the storm. Dice Fri, 17th Sep '04, 7:44am The power of nature can be devastating. I live in the prairies so I will never see a hurricane here. There have been some pretty horrible tornadoes here though now that the climate is starting change. I've come to the realization that people get what they deserve. My co-worker who so easily turned on me is now seeing that I'm not to be messed with. She is pretty much alone and it is her own doing. I think that the ultimate reason she turned on me in the first place is her own insecurity. I can imagine her frustration at having all her psychological ugliness bounce right back in her face. I don't even have to do anything. Her seeing the way that people respond to me compaired to how they respond to her is torture enough I think. Arabwel Fri, 17th Sep '04, 8:41am *Huggles all Floridans* I believe my brother-in-laws (HI am still not used at saying that, even if its been 3 monthes since my sister got married...) has an uncle or something who lives in Florida... I have a headache of horribele proportions.... and boy, Ive decided to never again to have Chinese food in one of the restaurants in the nearest city... it was severely bad. *sigh* I wonder if I can ever get my latest written scribvbles online, since floppies are so evil. :( Jaguar Fri, 17th Sep '04, 10:37am Didn't I turn heads at work and school today in my new SP shirt. All the ladies were all over me when they found out I killed Kangaxx. I like my new mouse pad too. Xei Win Toh Fri, 17th Sep '04, 10:57am That girl I like touched me today... even if it was a foot-to-shin touch. Hugo Fri, 17th Sep '04, 10:59am Yayness... babbling randomly from the school's computer room... I'm melting and I WANT MY WEEKEND! Lots of work, lots of school, more work... weekend won't start till past dusk, I think. Also, the blame should be shared between the tie and the collared shirt. I normally wear a shirt one neck size too large (and boy is it annoying having to argue with the clerks to get them to sell me the one size too large shirt), unbutton the top button whenever I can get away with it and wear my tie so loose that my boss complains about it from time to time and my neck is still stiff by the end of the work day. I was in pure agony by quitting time when I wore the "proper" shirt size, kept it fully buttoned all of the time, and left my tie at the degree of tightness approved by the boss. When I work a full day doing the exact same things on Saturdays/Sundays (we are allowed to dress casually on the week-end, thank God) during tax season I have no such stiffness. Ergo I feel safe in laying blame upon the collared shirt and tie. 8people Wed, 22nd Sep '04, 10:56pm Woohoo! After only four lessons - Frosty and I have both got our Grade One in Fencing. At long last. :) Maybe this post should have been in Booktalk. Oh well, it's pretty random anyway. Bad luck, 8people! :( Splunge Wed, 22nd Sep '04, 11:21pm Harbourboy, you're in for a treat. I really enjoyed that book, and I'm about 2/3 of the way through the second. JSBB, get out of public practice! My standard attire - Dockers (or similar), "business casual" shirt, semi-dress shoes. Comfy. :) Harbourboy Wed, 22nd Sep '04, 11:23pm I still don't see what the big deal is with a shirt and tie. You guys need to get some clothes that fit. If they fit properly, they shouldn't be uncomfortable at all. Oaz Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 12:15am I think the original purpose of the tie may have been to absorb moisture. IIRC, it was used by Haitian military (not sure if it was before the Haitian revolution). ejsmith Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 4:33am And so it is, I find myself alone on a groaning seat of good intent. It appears you have won, my brother, for in this wicked world the better man is not the best. Have you come then, Robin Hood? I am here John. Then, let us make an end. --- For THIS I'll have your head upon a pike! It is not too late, John. You can still set the crown aside, John, even now. No. No, Robin Hood, I cannot. I must play the part unto the end. Come then! Remove my crown, if you will... Stefanina Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 5:18am Work was very stressful today. By the end of the day, three of us were in tears. You would think licensed professionals could act like adults and not petulant children... Jaguar Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 11:27am "The reluctance to put away childish things may be a requirement of genius." - Rebecca Pepper Sinkler Malovae Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 11:49am Oh my head, my head, my head! Where have you gone... Uytuun Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 2:13pm Stupid cold. Stupid train. Stupid rain. Stupid lack of sleep. And too lazy to start working on getting out of this mood. Self-analysis rules. Taluntain Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 2:23pm You know, it'd be pretty easy at this point to further break down Whatnots so that eventually the only thing left would be this thread. Arabwel Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 3:29pm *cackle* Hmm, I am starting to get too interested in Once Upon a Time In Mexico if I am actually starting to like - *shudder* - Enrique Iglesias. :bang: I really do hope I can get over it quickly enough... But the moment I mention having laid my grubby little paws on any of his CDs, someone please let me out of my misery? On the other hand, i feel old. So very, very old. Some kiddies from next door vcame to aske me yesterday if I had dropped a necklace, and then asked me if I had kids, or a husband, or pets and told me how many kids there were in the immediate vicinity. I feel OLD... if I ever start baking them cookies, shoot me. Please. Gah. Laiwethel Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 3:37pm I really hate having my bedroom off of the kitchen sometimes. My housemates have no consideration for the fact that I don't have class until later on today and that I would like to sleep in. They were being very loud and talkative in the kitchen this morning, and now I can't get back to sleep. If the rest of the school year is going to be like this, I am going to be exhausted for the next ten months. chevalier Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 3:44pm Had to go to the dentist's today morning and they kept me on the chair for two hours. It was nowhere close to pleasure. And then had to go pick up some papers for grandmother and check if some book had arrived for sister. Definitely need some coffee. JSBB Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 3:57pm Ha, Laiwethel - welcome to the hell that is shared student housing. When I moved out of residence I shared an apartment with three computer science guys - a.k.a. those mysterious slovenly mole people who stay up until five a.m. finishing the homework due that day and then sleep until well past noon - regardless of when they were supposed to be in class. I swear, I heard the three of them comment along the lines of "Well my program works, kind of, well enough to get a B at least, I think." so often that it made me sick. I on the other hand tended to get up at 6 A.M. and wandered out of my room into their filth wondering why on earth did I ever move off campus. I brought my own fridge - the main fridge was quite frankly a bio-hazard and I had the wonderful experience (twice actually) of one of my roommates somehow managing to clog the toilet and overflow it so that the entire floor of my room was covered with toilet water. I am the only person that I know of who moved back into the university's residences after having moved off-campus. Having a single room with weekly maid service, cafateria meals and considerably less noise than in my apartment building seemed worth the extra $1,000/semester. I can honestly say that the year of living in that apartment has killed any possibility that I would ever consider (a) living in an apartment building or (b) sharing any sort of living space with another guy. Son of Bhaal Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 3:59pm Dentists are evil, almost as evil as ties, and thankfully I dont have to wear one @ work, I don't get paid enough for that corporate torture :) @ work right now, I'm dead bored, I think I'm going to make some paper airplanes out of post-its and throw them @ my supervisor :D post-its rule!! Arabwel Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 4:09pm Some days I am just SO glad to be a female, since we're not supposed to wear torture devices ad strangle ourselves. AND of course, i am rtall enough to not to need heels :D Laiwethel Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 4:16pm JSBB: Ouch. Definately sounds like you didn't have a good experience. My housemates aren't too bad, but living in a house with four girls and one and a half bathrooms can get interesting sometimes. And one of the girls has to have every single little thing organized. I can appreciate knowing that I need to do a certain chore by a certain day, but posting a sign saying what chores need to be done and when they have to be done by, I find that a bit much. I just don't appreciate being woken up by people talking loudly in the kitchen with no consideration of the fact that I was still asleep, or trying to sleep. JSBB Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 4:45pm I can definitely appreciate the hastles of bathroom juggling - not from my apartment experience as my roommates were typically in bed or just getting into bed when I got up but the first house that my parents owned had only one bathroom and there were four of us. Compared to that I am laughing now, I have 2.5 bathrooms all to myself in my house. :) Arabwel Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 4:51pm My last case of apartmen-sharing was an utter failure... the otrher rooms were all rented to males, only one of them was ever round, the landlord nevrertr duid anything he was supposed to and it just sucked. Like anyone reading the random babble last month can attest to :D I just got a call tht told me that my wallet had been found in the local supermarket, and I hadn't even realized it was gone. Boy, do i feel stupid. Thankfully, not everyone is like me. 8people Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 4:57pm we got our car boot open - but my school unfiorm was all creased up. So I had to wear my old school skirt which is huge and pleated and more like a parachute. Probably the only time in my life I wished I had a shorter skirt :xx: but means I could do schoolwork at school and not get into trouble for coming to school without books... so yay and all that. it was jammed because my mothers bag was caught in the lock when the boot was slammed shut - there is a hole in the bag now. Son of Bhaal Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 5:05pm I lost £50 cash once, don't ask me how I managed it, but I went on a massive shopping spree and didn't even realive I lost it, I also left £20 hanging out of an ATM machine and then was told two days later that the bank is holding some idiots money behind the counter that was left in the cash outlet, (so I got out some money got my card and left the money :D ), when I checked my balance of my account... Boy, did I feel stupid... you now have an extra pocket in your bag now 8people, how cool is that? Dark Haired Beauty Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 5:07pm Sometimes sharing an apartment with other girls can be funny. An example is our fridge has become the random babbling place with a constant use of little yellow sticky notes. We need some food We had food your bf ate it all He was hungry I didn't think anyone would care We are hungry too. I bought food last time Pizza and beer is not real food Well everyone cant live off cigarettes like you I'll remember that next time you want one Girls I'm sorry I'll buy some food (roomies bf) You should you eat like a ton a day Are you saying Im fat No your just short for your weight the notes just go on and on. :D Arabwel Thu, 23rd Sep '04, 5:14pm *gets a mental image of the Random Babble turnning intop a mile-high pile of post-it notes* I am SO glad that there are computers. :p |
