Classes have started and I have an absurd amount of work. This means, of course, less sleep :mad: . Well, time to get back to my history essay...

Even chev needs sleep sometimes. Not enough elven blood, I guess. 'Night.

Sleep is a symptom of caffeine deprivation.

No chance of caffeine deprivation here - a dozen or more cups a day for me.

Actually, I probably have coffee running through my veins instead of blood by now.

A dozen? How does anyone even have time to have a dozen cups of coffee in a day? I can barely be bothered to get up and make the one cup that I have a day. I think I would just feel bloated all day if I drank that much coffee (especially if they all came with lots of sugar and creamy milk).

Lots of time is a major side-effect of unemployment. Management of that time only comes after practice and 7 years of being unemployed.

The coffee aspect of it is itself a side-effect of not liking the taste of most teas now.

I wouldn't call lots of time a side-effect. That insinuates something bad. Time is all we have and it's limited so enjoy it. You never know when you are going to run out.

One day I may drink cofee. Or I might skip the middle man and take caffine intravenously.

Coffee is the stuff that keeps the motor running for me! I think I have between 5 and 12 coffee a day, depending on if I have to work yes of no. I also drink energy drinks at school, not as good as coffee but almost dubbel the caffeine.

Gonna phone some more companies today there must be one out their abel to help us!

Coffee is, for me, eternal torture. Everyone I know drinks it, and while it smells great, the taste is terrible.

Tea's much better.

Well, i think it's annoying I couldn't reply in the last babble, but here goes...

1. It was an accident. The scissors were tangled in other stuff I was going to throw at her.

2. I think I made a spectacle out of myself, cooing at a computer wrapped in my coat in horrific rain, taking it from the car to the store.... she needed the coat more than I did, nbut I think I am sick again.

3. sociopath: A person affected with an antisocial personality disorder. Namely, someone to whom the constraints of society mean nothing, doesn't give a damn about anything anf the like.

I invited my therapist to come see my new place, and have coffee... she's brtinging the munchies, and believe me, i am awaiting that... the local hospital cafeteria has the best pastries I'v ever had.

I think I am getting domestiicated.... urgh.

Seeing to things starts soon. Today is the dentist, tomorrow I'll have to go to uni and get my second year's papers stored. I still need to find two people and get them sign my index book so I would get credits for their classes. I don't need those to move on, but they are handy.

I've moved that site (http://www.chevalier.boo.pl) of mine, but I still need to work on the Guestbook before making it available. Yeah, I'm going for my own one and dropping the free service I used for the old site.

@Shrikanth - you say coffee and donuts don't mix? You must have been trying the wrong donuts. Go ask a cop for advice on which ones, I love donuts and coffee but have never had a problem unless I fall asleep while donut sits in coffee.

Wow I'm impressed, I just received a client's accounting records - prepared using one of the major commercial accounting software packages, and they are out of balance.

I am fairly certain that the software doesn't even allow you to post an unbalanced entry without having to override at least one error message.

Also, one has to question why on earth the bookkeeper wouldn't notice this when the fact that the books are not balanced shows up in big bold print on the trial balance.

To make things even better my request for an electronic copy of the computer files has resulted in my receiving - you guessed it - a big envelope full of printouts. :rolleyes:

Funny you mentioned some parent being dead. A friend of mine had her dad deceased last week... And in school there was another mother (of some kid) who passed away too. A sad week, and for me too, for it was school. Well, if I should have learned more the other year, I would have finished school. Redoing a year isn't bad though, but I guess you people all left school life behind. (in some cases a long time ago)

3. Buy a second machine. There are $600 laptops down at Wally World that would run TToEE just fine. 15" LCD and shared system memory means you wouldn't want anything over 800x600, but that's what the game is designed for in the first place. Kind of expensive for one game, but you can use it for other things as well. Fairly cheap and compact Linux box.

I love choir so much. There were a lot of people there tonight, about twice what we had last year, which is a very good thing.

What was exciting was that we actually had about six guys singing. Last year, we were lucky if we could get four guys to show up to rehersal.

The one downside of choir is that I had to deal with the two most annoying people in the school for two hours. I get to see them at least once a week until April. Oh joy.

Well, the six counties in Forida that were not yet declared national disaster areas just got nailed by Ivan. Now the entire state is a national disaster area.

What a nightmare. Your hurricane is even front-page news in New Zealand. There's a big picture of it that takes up half of today's front page in The New Zealand Herald.

I believe it. I live in north central Florida, so I wasn't in the landing zone of Ivan.
The west part of the Panhandle is what Ivan hit. It has destroyed many homes and businesses, and even an interstate highway bridge, amoungst other things..
My workplace is sending people out to cover the areas hit by Ivan, since many of the employees there have family members that were hurt/killed in the storm.

The power of nature can be devastating. I live in the prairies so I will never see a hurricane here. There have been some pretty horrible tornadoes here though now that the climate is starting change.

I've come to the realization that people get what they deserve. My co-worker who so easily turned on me is now seeing that I'm not to be messed with. She is pretty much alone and it is her own doing. I think that the ultimate reason she turned on me in the first place is her own insecurity. I can imagine her frustration at having all her psychological ugliness bounce right back in her face. I don't even have to do anything. Her seeing the way that people respond to me compaired to how they respond to her is torture enough I think.

BBR, reality will hit like a brick only if you are not equipt to handle it. Or are you saying that love is not reality? Maybe you are refering to "being in love" , at which point some people are sometimes blinded. I'm running another psycho through the Spine of the World. My IWD2 paladin/sorcerer owns. Hurrah for Chevaddon the Undershaved. He can cast 8 paralysing Chromatic Orbs 8 times on level 5. That or shield, adding an instant +7 to defence. Don't even need those Arcane Armour feats. The idea is to get surrounded and use Gedlee's Loop. Or lure them into a narrow pass and apply Aggannazzar's Scorcher. The real fun will begin when I get the Web spell... And I guess I'm getting Fireball with the closest level-up. Web and Fireball... :D Or lightning bolt. Lightning bolt is more in line with my personality.

You know Chev, sometimes I am not sure whether to respect you or to fear for you. :-D

Personally I think my halfing assassin in BG2 will show you all, but that is just my opinion.

Spent the day cleaning up the debris left by the hurricane. Right now, nothing seems to have a bead on Florida... I hope it lasts. The city sewer systems still arent' back up to par.... gotta be careful not to flush too much water out of the house.
However, unemployment in this state should go down... all hands will be needed to build back up.

I think it would be fine to wake one up, but, I am pretty sure one would/could fall down upon waking up. Least that would be my main concern. Hell, my brother used to sleep walk, and he would talk while he did it. Was kinda weird.

Poor you. I recall putting Latin grammar in my head by force a day before a test. And she started giving us tests each Wednesday. Fortunately, she eventually switched to translations and we were able to learn grammar in a less stressful way.

I was having an okay day until I just tried to ring my ex about my next contact with Riley and her fiance answered the phone. The A-hole had the nerve to tell me to leave her alone because I'm scaring her AND tell me that I'm not allowed to ring her at the time I did, even though the AVO clearly states that I can for the reasons I rang her. Now I feel like bursting into tears or killing someone for real.

Can't do either in public though so I'll just get p!ssed off and cry on the inside.

I hate the cost of textbooks. I just paid $140 CDN for 3 books, and I still have more to buy. The ones I still need are probably more expensive, but I don't know, as the bookstore doesn't have them in right now. :mad:

Yeah, I also end up paying lots for books that totally don't deserve it. They are printed on little better than recycled paper, paper-back and with no colour print or diagrams or anything inside, just text, but still cost like $/e 10-12 per one, or more if thicker.

That's what libraries are there for! :) I just borrow whatever textbooks I need a week before the exams and I'm set! :D

My wife was able to get one of her required textbooks through Amazon.com. It cost about 30% less than buying it through the bookstore at school, which didn't have any in stock, and she's sharing it with a friend.

Hmm... I got hit by a bolt of random happiness today, scary stuff.

Ever have one of those days that starts out so well, then just goes downhill?

Class this morning was fine, but then went to get textbooks, and only managed to get three of the books I needed. :eek:

While there, I ran into a guy with whom I had some fun over the summer, then found out that he was getting back together with his ex-girlfriend.

After that, I came home and tried to get some more sleep before my evening class. Sleep didn't come to me at all. Went to class, which went well, but then ran into some people that I didn't want to talk to. :bang:

Got home and changed my status on MSN, basically complaining about why the universe seems to love messing me up, only to have my ex send me a message. :flaming:

My allergies are kicking in, and depression plus other problems specific to women are a very unpleasant combination.

Maybe I should just go to bed so this day can end.

Yesterday started well for me but ended up with a visit from the cops. The a-hole who abused the crap out of me on Monday actually tried to get me arrested!!

I think i have finally found a good therapist... i voluntarily showed her family photos and invited her for tea instead of our usual meeting in her office. Worked pretty darn well, and I think i might actually manage to work through my issues instead of getting new ones like before.

The fact that she's a devout Johnny Depp fan isn't hindering, of course :D

We ended up talking about Depp's movies and I showed her the Pic (Yes, Aik, THAT pic) and she agreed with me.

Life is reasonably good, with the exception of me still lacking broadband and Jenova being half-dead.

So here I am at school again. And it was real...educational...

It is a bit strange to consider. I do my check early in the morning *checks over shoulder* from work before the boss comes in. Once in a while I check back in throughout the day. For example, my previous post was added at 7:50am, my time.

I have long suspected that the tie was invented by doctors or chiropracters as a means to generate business. Either that or some sadistic employer who wanted his employees to be as uncomfortable as possible.

Please! How on earth can a tie do any damage to someone to the extent that they need a doctor or chiropracter?! If that is the case, you are doing it up far too tightly..............

And that's bad. It can't be too tight. In fact, it should be a little loose. Elegance needs a little bit of fresh air.

O.K. I concede that needing to see a doctor or chiropracter is a bit of an overstatement. Also, the blame should be shared between the tie and the collared shirt.

I normally wear a shirt one neck size too large (and boy is it annoying having to argue with the clerks to get them to sell me the one size too large shirt), unbutton the top button whenever I can get away with it and wear my tie so loose that my boss complains about it from time to time and my neck is still stiff by the end of the work day. I was in pure agony by quitting time when I wore the "proper" shirt size, kept it fully buttoned all of the time, and left my tie at the degree of tightness approved by the boss.

When I work a full day doing the exact same things on Saturdays/Sundays (we are allowed to dress casually on the week-end, thank God) during tax season I have no such stiffness. Ergo I feel safe in laying blame upon the collared shirt and tie.

After only four lessons - Frosty and I have both got our Grade One in Fencing. It usually takes about six lessons apprently, so we're doing pretty good :) :cool: :roll:

But the boot of our car is broken! I cannot get it open so my school uniform and my schoolbag and computer are trapped in the back along with my mothers college work. Doomed!

Yay!! I requested "Assassin's Apprentice" by Robin Hobb from the library on 1 June (after much recommendation from a lot of you) and now it has finally turned up so I can read it. At long last. :)

I still don't see what the big deal is with a shirt and tie. You guys need to get some clothes that fit. If they fit properly, they shouldn't be uncomfortable at all.

I think the original purpose of the tie may have been to absorb moisture. IIRC, it was used by Haitian military (not sure if it was before the Haitian revolution).

I really hate having my bedroom off of the kitchen sometimes. My housemates have no consideration for the fact that I don't have class until later on today and that I would like to sleep in. :mad:

They were being very loud and talkative in the kitchen this morning, and now I can't get back to sleep. If the rest of the school year is going to be like this, I am going to be exhausted for the next ten months.

Had to go to the dentist's today morning and they kept me on the chair for two hours. It was nowhere close to pleasure.

And then had to go pick up some papers for grandmother and check if some book had arrived for sister.

Definitely need some coffee.

Ha, Laiwethel - welcome to the hell that is shared student housing.

When I moved out of residence I shared an apartment with three computer science guys - a.k.a. those mysterious slovenly mole people who stay up until five a.m. finishing the homework due that day and then sleep until well past noon - regardless of when they were supposed to be in class. I swear, I heard the three of them comment along the lines of "Well my program works, kind of, well enough to get a B at least, I think." so often that it made me sick.

I on the other hand tended to get up at 6 A.M. and wandered out of my room into their filth wondering why on earth did I ever move off campus. I brought my own fridge - the main fridge was quite frankly a bio-hazard and I had the wonderful experience (twice actually) of one of my roommates somehow managing to clog the toilet and overflow it so that the entire floor of my room was covered with toilet water.

I am the only person that I know of who moved back into the university's residences after having moved off-campus. Having a single room with weekly maid service, cafateria meals and considerably less noise than in my apartment building seemed worth the extra $1,000/semester.

I can honestly say that the year of living in that apartment has killed any possibility that I would ever consider (a) living in an apartment building or (b) sharing any sort of living space with another guy.

Dentists are evil, almost as evil as ties, and thankfully I dont have to wear one @ work, I don't get paid enough for that corporate torture :)

@ work right now, I'm dead bored, I think I'm going to make some paper airplanes out of post-its and throw them @ my supervisor :D post-its rule!!

Some days I am just SO glad to be a female, since we're not supposed to wear torture devices ad strangle ourselves.

AND of course, i am rtall enough to not to need heels :D

Ouch. Definately sounds like you didn't have a good experience. My housemates aren't too bad, but living in a house with four girls and one and a half bathrooms can get interesting sometimes.

And one of the girls has to have every single little thing organized. I can appreciate knowing that I need to do a certain chore by a certain day, but posting a sign saying what chores need to be done and when they have to be done by, I find that a bit much.

I just don't appreciate being woken up by people talking loudly in the kitchen with no consideration of the fact that I was still asleep, or trying to sleep.

I can definitely appreciate the hastles of bathroom juggling - not from my apartment experience as my roommates were typically in bed or just getting into bed when I got up but the first house that my parents owned had only one bathroom and there were four of us.

Compared to that I am laughing now, I have 2.5 bathrooms all to myself in my house. :)

My last case of apartmen-sharing was an utter failure... the otrher rooms were all rented to males, only one of them was ever round, the landlord nevrertr duid anything he was supposed to and it just sucked. Like anyone reading the random babble last month can attest to :D

I just got a call tht told me that my wallet had been found in the local supermarket, and I hadn't even realized it was gone. Boy, do i feel stupid.

we got our car boot open - but my school unfiorm was all creased up. So I had to wear my old school skirt which is huge and pleated and more like a parachute.

Probably the only time in my life I wished I had a shorter skirt :xx:

but means I could do schoolwork at school and not get into trouble for coming to school without books...

it was jammed because my mothers bag was caught in the lock when the boot was slammed shut - there is a hole in the bag now.

I lost £50 cash once, don't ask me how I managed it, but I went on a massive shopping spree and didn't even realive I lost it, I also left £20 hanging out of an ATM machine and then was told two days later that the bank is holding some idiots money behind the counter that was left in the cash outlet, (so I got out some money got my card and left the money :D ), when I checked my balance of my account... Boy, did I feel stupid... you now have an extra pocket in your bag now 8people, how cool is that?

Sometimes sharing an apartment with other girls can be funny. An example is our fridge has become the random babbling place with a constant use of little yellow sticky notes.
