I would like everyone to post what character they are and what their stats are plus the name and any extra details you want to include.

Underneath i would like you to include a little sentence of why you chose this character and what you like about it.

I am just curious about this and it would be nice to find out different peoples opinions.

Ranger.
str - 18-93
int - 13 (reduced by 1)
con - 18
dex - 18
wis - 16
chr - 8 (18 with the ring)

I couldn't believe the roll.

Anyway, I picked a ranger because it is the character I identify the most with. I grew up in a small farm town and spent a lot of time in the woods. I did a lot of camping and hiking in my younger days.

I am curently playing a dc Swashbuckler/Cleric. I have reached 12/13th level. I am dual wielding the Flail of Ages and the Gnasher +2 club.

I picked the class after playing through with a party and wanting a greater challenge.

His name is Mordecai Kane.

I chose a thief because i not only think they are cool but it is hard to find a good thief seeing as how they are totally customizable and should be made to your liking. i chose a halfling because they make the best thieves.

I chose to play a Paladin because i am most like them in real life. I may not always agree with the rules (read the gun post in the whatnots section!) but i always stick to them. I enjoy helping people and i love animals equally (Not a ranger because i like humans the same as animals).

I had to try something new, and since Viconia values strength, I thought, why not a fighter, and found the berserker to be to my liking.

Long sword **

Duel wield ***
Short bow **

I've always had a thing for rangers and i liked the backstabbing ability of the stalkers. I kinda wanted him to be sorta like a fighter/thief so i started out with dagger and shortbow and added the rest cause there wasn't anything else to put it in. Currently armed with pixie prick and boneblade.

(think i might change it cause he also has the boots of speed so he looks pretty gay in combat with his arms windmilling around constantly. To me, looks are everything in the game)

On the issue of the berserker: am i presuming that this is the end of bg2 and you got all of the strength bonuses?
Because this is no place for cheats!

(That's with all the tomes from BG)

Haven't got very far in the game - I just finished BG and am only on chapter 2 of BG2.

No real reason for choosing a ranger, except that I prefer rangers to other classes.

And one more thing - I was looking at my exported character from the end of BG with the character viewer that comes with BG2, and he has a 'MDK2 Spell' in his inventory. What's all that about? I dont remember picking it up in BG, and I haven't used Shadow Keeper/Gate Keeper at all. Vheers

Avooch: its weird really, I had 18 strength, then +1 for the tome. In the trials I got +1 permanent for just attacking sarevok and another 2 (those that pops on top) for the tear, I think its because I'm evil I got the "extra" permanent +1.

the constitution was 18 +1 tome, and +2con in the trials.

I´m playing as an Undead Hunter!
My stats are:

strength - 18/65
Dexterity - 18
constitution - 18
intelligence - 10
wisdom - 15
charisma - 20

The only magic items I use to improve my stats are ring of human influence and nymph kloak. Without them, I have 17 in charisma.
The rest of the stats are original. I sat in about half an hour before the stats were fine. This char. rocks!

I chose Undead Hunter since they´re so cool, and there are a lot of annoying level draining vampires and such in the game wich I hate. His name´s Melkhior :) and he´s a character who belives that laws and order are the true way of happiness. He´s currently in love with Viconia and we´ll see how that turns out. ok, I´m out of subject, but this is my Paladin. He´s the best there is!

In real life I simply cannot be without music for long periods of time, and I spend a few hours every day playing my guitars. Bards are the only character in BG2 who gets to play the lute, and this class is thus the obvious choice... (I chose the Jester class since I'm not really a heroic warrior type)

Sorry Lokken my mistake!!!
i was looking at the one above!!!

And although you have all done well has anyone got a character with better than 96 total?
That is without the tomes or bonuses.
That is what i started with in BG1 and then it got better.
I thought it was a bloody lucky roll and was wondering if anybody else had had my luck??

When I decided on the stats, I thought wisdom was important for monks. It's not. Looking back I would have evened out the last 3 stats... I really like this charcter though. As you all know, monks kick ass (maybe too much). I try to roll play him as being stupid in some of the dialogues which is sort of intersting.

Just take one off all my stats except strength and that was what i started with. It reaches 98. Took 10 tries, then 10 more to see if i could get any better.

I really don't like peaple maxing out their stats, so this is my human mage,

Nightal
lvl. 17 mage

12 Str (that demon in dream took one point, I think)
16 Dex (was 17 before hell)
16 Con
18 Int
17 Wis
10 Cha

... and this was a natural roll.

str 18/75 (grr.. one more point for the next bonus level)
con 18
dex 17 (damn hell good-guy penalties)
int 12
wis 10 (sacrificed a point to the darn dream)
cha 11 (18 with ring.. ahh I love that ring!)

grandmaster in 2 handed sword.. 2 prof points in two handed weapons..

needless to say, I chopped many a monster to pieces..

I rolled a few times.... I felt the son of a god should have some decent stats. when I used to play AD and D all the time (about 20 years ago) I was a strong believer in taking the first role with no modification--- else we all be 18's x 6...........
