I went to my college's Spring Art Festival today, and acquired a canvas bag and a sunburn. The burn annoyed me, since I had put sunscreen on, and the sunscreen has not expired.
The festival is still not back up the number of artists it used to have, the weather all over the country has made it difficult for the far travelers to make it here.
For a community college festival, this one is huge. It's been running for 38 years now, and attracts hundreds of different artists and performers. The city closes off several blocks of street for it.

Have finished with Firefly and Serenity, and have now moved on to Battlestar Galactica.

I used to have a weird dream of a car tyre, the background changed seasons (sunny, leaves, snow, less snow), it speeded up fast, then I woke up and I threw up (happened three times :( ), which wasn't nice.

I used to have a recurring dream....a piece of pipe (like drain pipe) would move towards me and away REALLY fast constantly and the background would shift colours randomly and quickly, needless to say I always woke up disorientated and confused...it still happens occassionally...

In other news I'm behind on my college work, which isn't good....but meh, I'll put something together.

Well, the exam went smoothly... for once in a long time, I'm not stressed out at the possibility of failing it, and I don't know if that's a good omen or not...

I celebrated with some friends at college, and I treated myself to a couple shooters of good old-fashioned Tequila. I wasn't drunk - nor did I wanted to - but I had a great time. We need more of those.

I felt cold when I woke up this morning, so I took my tempurature with our digital thermometer. After the designated time, I read it: 97.2F. Okay, that's a bit cooler than I am normally (97.6F), so I decided to take it again later in the day. About 2ish, I took another temp reading: 96.8F. I dressed warmer and waited until 8.30: 96.2F.

6 am is too early in the morning to get up. Combining breakfast around 7 am and lunch around 1:30, closer to 2 pm, that makes Sunday the toughest day of the week. So much for a day of rest (but I did sleep for about 4 hours in the afternoon).

Yeah, I've used pandora.com for a good while, it's great. Really helps you find new people that makes the kind of music you like.

Pandora is really great, though not perfect. When searching for a specific song Pandora search for «musical similarities» with other group and therefore you can end up with a completely different result then you intented. An exemple; about a month ago, I was searching on Pandora, the song «Dust in the wind» by Kansas, Pandora gave me a multitude of song that had the so-called «musical similarites» or simply remixes or other song by the same name, actually never did I find «Dust in the Wind» by Kansas, which was what I wanted in the first place. When using Pandora you must keep in mind it rarely give you a specific song you want. Nonetheless it is a great tool for discovering new music.

Since Pandora, so far, is limited to the United States by requiring to put a valid US Zip Code here's a tips. Using google or 411.com, search for a US public institution (like an hospital) and give to Pandora the Zip Code. That's what I did, I gave the Zip Code of some NYC's hospital :p

Edit: Also, if you don't want to search for a Zip Code, a friend of mine told me that in the English's Wikipedia article on «Zip Code» you can find exemples, and they work in Pandora :lol: .

Felinoid, actually, it makes the most sense to read the Warcraft 3 manual when you're in the middle of the game. I know, I've done it a week ago. A lot of the backstory and details are not explained in the game, but they are in the manual... so it's well worth the read while you're still playing the game because many things are made much more clear.

I got it as a Christmas present when it came out (since I enjoyed 1 & 2, I figured I'd like 3), but back then I couldn't run it because my game boxes still had Win95, and WC3 requires Win98 or later. Rather enjoying the story, at least more than the gameplay (which isn't bad, but isn't great).

I can't remember which one it was, maybe 9? He's right at the beginning of the game and he wears a pointy straw hat with a a blue jacket. he has a sort of black hole for a face with just two eyes looking out. At the beginning of the game, he goes up a long street doing quests to a castle where he has to climb over the rooftops with either ladders or planks, and theres a big fair on with a flying boat.

That's Vivi, and Final Fantasy 9, though he looks like the Black Mages from the earlier FF games.

My life is a major suckfest. That's the gist of this post, so skip to the next one if you don't want the details.

I have my second, double ear infection for the year. This causes my throat to become infected and swell shut, my tongue to grow 3 sizes too big for my mouth and grumpiness in general.

Cause of this illnesses 1: a British F-I-L who still thinks the Axis powers are strafe bombing. I constantly fight with him over how 62* is NOT "room temperature" and everyone in the household is sick because they are so effing cold. :flaming:

Cause of this illnesses 2: Being a poor, uninsured Canadian immigrant sucks. :nolike: Without insurance, I can't even *see* a doctor to get the 4 honkin' gigantor cavities in my teeth filled. And this is with *reputable* dentists! I don't even want to think about the "back alley" ones.

This also means I can't see a GP for antibiotics or medication of any kind. They won't even talk me and have their PAs politely hurry me out of their office reception areas. :bang: This is why you see me touting home remedies a lot.

Annoyance Factor 1: My diseased body has a side affect: my feet are swollen from ankle to toes to the size of baseballs (yes, I measured). WTF?

Annoyance Factor 2: I have gout, which means I can't have chicken broth or soup. I'm stuck eating ice cream, hot chocolate and beef broth. Mt. Dew isn't helping this time. :(

Annoyance Factor 3: I'm running a fever at 98.6 degrees! :confused:

Just learned today that a former colleague of mine asked to be institutionalised after he left the company we both used to work at. He was fired about a year ago, and it was ugly (in my :roll: former :spin: company that's guaranteed).

I have a problem with my graphics card. It cant create skies (WTF :eek: ) . Every time there is sky shown in a late model graphics engine the computer either crashes or the sky is faulty. What the hell is going on. :hmm:

I use Internet Explorer and usually hitting the back button works. Note I said usually.

I have used Firefox and Explorer as well as a few lesser known ones and can safely say that for the amount of functions that I use on a web browser, they are all the same. I have never had a problem with any of them.

i'm just complaining.my whole right arm is in incredible pain.after weeks of testing,they found something wrong in my neck that i still have to see a spine specialist for.something is wrong with c5,c6,and c7 (whatever they are),and they also found severe carpal tunnel.they will operate on my wrist on the 1st.the worst thing is,they expect me to be off of work for 3 or 4 days.and my wife is going to make me take the time off.i never miss work.i've worked with 103 degree fever.i worked for 2 weeks with my wrist broken in 2 places.a man works regardless of his health.a woman doesn't understand such things.but what can you do?we have to keep them happy

Things I learned on my continuing education trip:

1. High winds cause lots of power outages. Buildings close. Seminars get canceled. The good restaurants aren't open.

2. It is possible to find a doctor and get a prescription for antibiotics even far from home, if you don't mind paying up front.

3. Other states have different reporting requirements for property damage car accidents. And duct tape covers up holes in your car nicely.

Not what I was supposed to learn but I learned something.

I am ill. Because of this I am happly at home, rather then at school.

In other news, it rained yesterday. I hadn't seen rain in months.

White chocolate is good, but 70% cocoa dark chocolate remains the best.

Speaking of white chocolate, my housemate baked a cake which could only be described as a white chocolate overkill - worst, it stay fresh for but a few days, so it's got to be eaten REALLY fast. Not that I mind, but this stuff is kinda rich. Oh well, I'll just eat lightly for the upcoming few days.

But as of now... /cracks open a can of caffeine

I'm thinking I need to go easy on the caffiene the next little while. I have some pain in joints affected by my Tourette Syndrome...

Just came back from London where I had a fantastic weekend. It was warm and sunny all the way, while my fellow Edinburgh residents had to put up with rain and almost-zero temperatures. It does not feel so good to be back :(

Disneyland was great on Friday night. Hardly any people because of all the rain. We just walked straight onto most of the rides. We went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park on Sunday. The lions were cool as was the bird show. The elephant show was boring, though.

I "celebrate" my 40th birthday this week. Time to break out the cane and ear trumpet. :geezer:
