The RHCP last night was amazing.
I am in a cosmic state of mind because of it and Bluesfest :hippy:
Sat, 14th Apr '07, 2:05am
Got woken up by an sms this morning. I'm so gonna kill my friend tommorow. -_- On the other hand, he's gonna give me lotsa anime (yay more Bleach and Naruto and even Ranma 1/2!). Hmm I guess I can let him off the hook this time. ^^
Sat, 14th Apr '07, 3:57am
I am ill. I have become unwell. I am not happy with these developments, but luckily, I am already on antibiotics for my toe, so maybe this will shake soon.
In other news, I am feeling terrible.
Sat, 14th Apr '07, 3:58am
I don't think RHCP could ever leave me in that state of mind.
Sat, 14th Apr '07, 4:20am
If you were as fanatical about them as I am, you would be in a cosmic state of mind as well.
Sat, 14th Apr '07, 6:05am
Nothing wierd about this Friday the 13th.
In other news, I trimmed the beard to a goatee.
I woke up at 11:15 am, and showered and cooked lunch for noon. Am I good or what?
Sat, 14th Apr '07, 7:30am
So what did you have for lunch Gnarf?
Sat, 14th Apr '07, 8:44am
I woke up at eight o'clock this morning and by now have managed to make coffee, and are by now reading the boards.... :coffee2:

Ugh, why do the drugs never make you feel any better?
I'm spending my time in bed, watching anime. Kinda like most weekends really, only I have to take lots of pills, and try not to throw up.
So kinda like most weekends after I;ve been dirnking, really.

My preference for 3,5% fat milk over 1,5% low fat milk results from the insight that with the former the milk foam for your latte macchiato becomes infinitely better.

ANd no more latenight/early morning pillages. I just rolled out of bed (thanks to a bill collector; jaluk) after falling asleep at 4.30 a. I made a ton of PoE, don't get me wrong, but the bnav'er kept going back and forth over every league three times. I bought an 8,000 PoE Easter egg with the money.

I wonder if more people really do fall in love in the spring.
Sun, 15th Apr '07, 4:04am
What I did was fried some hamburger, and as it was finishing, I threw a can of pease and carrots in. Meanwhile I cooked some rice, and put that in at the end. It wasn't fancy, but it was edible and nourishing...

Sun, 15th Apr '07, 7:25am
I went to my college's Spring Art Festival today, and acquired a canvas bag and a sunburn. The burn annoyed me, since I had put sunscreen on, and the sunscreen has not expired.
The festival is still not back up the number of artists it used to have, the weather all over the country has made it difficult for the far travelers to make it here.
For a community college festival, this one is huge. It's been running for 38 years now, and attracts hundreds of different artists and performers. The city closes off several blocks of street for it.
Sun, 15th Apr '07, 9:03am
Have finished with Firefly and Serenity, and have now moved on to Battlestar Galactica.
In other news, I'm no longer sick! The drugs worked!
Course, it was most likely food poisoning caused by that chinese the other night, but eh, what're you gonna do?
Sun, 15th Apr '07, 9:58am
Sick ... noting more to say really! I've always wondered how doctors and nurses get sick... surely if you had all that medical knowledge you'd know what to avoid and how to make yourself better
I had a strange dream last night. I kept posting threads in Whatnots and Tal kept moving them around
Sun, 15th Apr '07, 11:02am
I've always wondered how doctors and nurses get sick... surely if you had all that medical knowledge you'd know what to avoid and how to make yourself better I'd think that they'd have so many anti-bodies in their system after being around so many sick people, that they would be nearly immune to all forms of illness.
Guess not. :bad:
In other news...the Cottonwood and Ash trees, among several others, are blooming here right now. I just so happen to be extremely allergic to both the afore mentioned trees, and it just so happens that there are two large Ash trees within 10 feet of my door. :bang: :rolling:
Sun, 15th Apr '07, 11:37am
I had a strange dream last night. I kept posting threads in Whatnots and Tal kept moving them aroundStrange dreams or nightmares, especially nausea caused, usually have a repeating subject, the details change only minimally.
I used to have a weird dream of a car tyre, the background changed seasons (sunny, leaves, snow, less snow), it speeded up fast, then I woke up and I threw up (happened three times :( ), which wasn't nice.
Dave the Magic Turtle
Sun, 15th Apr '07, 11:54am
I used to have a recurring dream....a piece of pipe (like drain pipe) would move towards me and away REALLY fast constantly and the background would shift colours randomly and quickly, needless to say I always woke up disorientated and confused...it still happens occassionally...
In other news I'm behind on my college work, which isn't good....but meh, I'll put something together.

Well, the exam went smoothly... for once in a long time, I'm not stressed out at the possibility of failing it, and I don't know if that's a good omen or not...
I celebrated with some friends at college, and I treated myself to a couple shooters of good old-fashioned Tequila. I wasn't drunk - nor did I wanted to - but I had a great time. We need more of those.
Sun, 15th Apr '07, 8:32pm
The weather is nice and warm here - pretty soon I'll turn off the computer and go outside.

Mon, 16th Apr '07, 1:05am
I felt cold when I woke up this morning, so I took my tempurature with our digital thermometer. After the designated time, I read it: 97.2F. Okay, that's a bit cooler than I am normally (97.6F), so I decided to take it again later in the day. About 2ish, I took another temp reading: 96.8F. I dressed warmer and waited until 8.30: 96.2F.
No one said I would be getting colder as I got older! I've lost a degree and a half! No, I hadn't drunk anything cold which might affect the thermometer!
Mon, 16th Apr '07, 1:29am
Wow, sharing one computer with 4 people is exceedingly difficult, especially since it is normally 2 computers between 3 people. Our internet is being funky.

6 am is too early in the morning to get up. Combining breakfast around 7 am and lunch around 1:30, closer to 2 pm, that makes Sunday the toughest day of the week. So much for a day of rest (but I did sleep for about 4 hours in the afternoon).
Mon, 16th Apr '07, 6:08am
At least you have the option for a nap in the afternoon. Sometimes I really really miss sleep.

Bahir the Red
Mon, 16th Apr '07, 4:16pm
Yeah, I've used pandora.com for a good while, it's great. Really helps you find new people that makes the kind of music you like.
Mon, 16th Apr '07, 4:31pm
Pandora is really great, though not perfect. When searching for a specific song Pandora search for «musical similarities» with other group and therefore you can end up with a completely different result then you intented. An exemple; about a month ago, I was searching on Pandora, the song «Dust in the wind» by Kansas, Pandora gave me a multitude of song that had the so-called «musical similarites» or simply remixes or other song by the same name, actually never did I find «Dust in the Wind» by Kansas, which was what I wanted in the first place. When using Pandora you must keep in mind it rarely give you a specific song you want. Nonetheless it is a great tool for discovering new music.
Since Pandora, so far, is limited to the United States by requiring to put a valid US Zip Code here's a tips. Using google or 411.com, search for a US public institution (like an hospital) and give to Pandora the Zip Code. That's what I did, I gave the Zip Code of some NYC's hospital :p
Edit: Also, if you don't want to search for a Zip Code, a friend of mine told me that in the English's Wikipedia article on «Zip Code» you can find exemples, and they work in Pandora  .

Hello darkness, my old friendhaha! A running joke in South Africa is that the anthem has been changed to:
"Hello darkness, my old friend"
"Nice to speak to you again"
Not sure of the second line, but its a joke on the recent electricity service (which is still nothing compared to zimbabwe which has mandatory blackouts every day the whole day except for a few hours at night. so no gamers in Zim!)
Tue, 17th Apr '07, 12:33am
You, dirty minded people, lower your eyes when you talk about the greatest adventure ever created for a PC! :nono:
Tue, 17th Apr '07, 12:37am
You can keep that "Day of the Tentacle". I don't want anything to do with your second rate PC games. Give me half-life and c&c any day.
Tue, 17th Apr '07, 1:11am
Work day's over! According to Dragonfly's new definition of a workweek I only have 2 more days 'till Saturday. I don't think I'll be playing "Day of the Tentacle" come the weekend, though.

If you want a wicked sex game play the old text adventure "Leather Goddesses of Phoebos" (I think thats how you spell it) :p
I have about 50 text adventures (including Zork) on my computer and have yet to complete any of them, they're all too hard although I can get pretty far on some, Uncle Zebulons Will for instance...but I got stuck on that :(

I only said it sounded like a pornographic game, not that it was . And seriously, we don't need much of an imagination with that title.
Tue, 17th Apr '07, 5:57am
I remember playing those text adventures when they were first out. I even bought a book on how to do it and started making my own.
As far as completing them I did manage to complete one about a pirate island. The rest were too hard.
Tue, 17th Apr '07, 10:29am

Note to self and others: do not read stories/histories in manual when you've already started playing the game. Did that yesterday with the Warcraft 3 manual, and I knew instantly that Arthas was going to [spoiler]. The pieces just clicked. Though better an early groan and reduced annoyance than a big thing when it happens. *shakes head in annoyance*
"Hello darkness, my old friend"
"Nice to speak to you again"
Not sure of the second line, ... Hello Darkness, my old friend
I've come to [talk/speak] with you again
It said 'The words of the prophets

Don't be irreplaceable. If you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted. Maybe not, but you can pressure them for more money with the same duties, or else you'll leave them high and dry. :p

Felinoid, actually, it makes the most sense to read the Warcraft 3 manual when you're in the middle of the game. I know, I've done it a week ago. A lot of the backstory and details are not explained in the game, but they are in the manual... so it's well worth the read while you're still playing the game because many things are made much more clear.
Anyway, I've made Uri buy WC3 a few days ago, and now you too? Sounds like a WC3 reunion. :D

Which final fantasy game had the little man with the funny hat in it?
Tue, 17th Apr '07, 9:33pm
Made it online briefly but no doubt will get bumped again. The WIFI in this hotel keeps going on and off.
And of course yesterday we had no power most of the day due to high winds!
On the other hand I have eaten some very good hot dogs while I've been here.
Home in a couple of days. Best to all. Don't actually wish you were here because it's turning out to be rather dull. Ugh.

Anyway, I've made Uri buy WC3 a few days ago, and now you too? Sounds like a WC3 reunion. Actually, it was his talking about it in the chatroom that convinced me to pull it off the shelf. I got it as a Christmas present when it came out (since I enjoyed 1 & 2, I figured I'd like 3), but back then I couldn't run it because my game boxes still had Win95, and WC3 requires Win98 or later. Rather enjoying the story, at least more than the gameplay (which isn't bad, but isn't great).

re: funny hat man
I can't remember which one it was, maybe 9? He's right at the beginning of the game and he wears a pointy straw hat with a a blue jacket. he has a sort of black hole for a face with just two eyes looking out. At the beginning of the game, he goes up a long street doing quests to a castle where he has to climb over the rooftops with either ladders or planks, and theres a big fair on with a flying boat.

That's Vivi, and Final Fantasy 9, though he looks like the Black Mages from the earlier FF games.

My life is a major suckfest. That's the gist of this post, so skip to the next one if you don't want the details.
I have my second, double ear infection for the year. This causes my throat to become infected and swell shut, my tongue to grow 3 sizes too big for my mouth and grumpiness in general.
Cause of this illnesses 1: a British F-I-L who still thinks the Axis powers are strafe bombing. I constantly fight with him over how 62* is NOT "room temperature" and everyone in the household is sick because they are so effing cold. :flaming:
Cause of this illnesses 2: Being a poor, uninsured Canadian immigrant sucks. :nolike: Without insurance, I can't even *see* a doctor to get the 4 honkin' gigantor cavities in my teeth filled. And this is with *reputable* dentists! I don't even want to think about the "back alley" ones.
This also means I can't see a GP for antibiotics or medication of any kind. They won't even talk me and have their PAs politely hurry me out of their office reception areas. :bang: This is why you see me touting home remedies a lot.
Annoyance Factor 1: My diseased body has a side affect: my feet are swollen from ankle to toes to the size of baseballs (yes, I measured). WTF?
Annoyance Factor 2: I have gout, which means I can't have chicken broth or soup. I'm stuck eating ice cream, hot chocolate and beef broth. Mt. Dew isn't helping this time. :(
Annoyance Factor 3: I'm running a fever at 98.6 degrees!
Other items: WTF is up with Richard Gere in India? Dyson vacuums suck.

Something weird happened today. I gave blood since there was a collection going on on my college. But then after the donation some guy pops out of nowhere and tell me « Blood donation is the devil's work and unchristian ». WTF? I'm not a believer myself, but I asked myself how giving blood to save life is unchristian? How can it be the devil's work? Who is that weird guy anyway?

The big four-hour one is today, though... I've gotten hold of some wake-ups - don't really have much choice, I need to stay focused but can't take piss breaks, so Jolt, Rockstar & co are out of the question.
The good part is that we're celebrating the end of this [censored] class tomorrow... nothing like a small, quiet evening between friends, drinking a few beers, watching some wrestling, and basically just having a good time.

Just learned today that a former colleague of mine asked to be institutionalised after he left the company we both used to work at. He was fired about a year ago, and it was ugly (in my  former :spin: company that's guaranteed).
I wonder wether this guy was fired because of (a) being so, or (b) if he indeed did get so because of they way the company treated him (in two words: like crap) and the way he was fired. I tend toward 35% (a) and 65% (b).
Anyway, good riddance :outta:
.... I'm happy I got a new job :)

Things I learned on my continuing education trip:
1. High winds cause lots of power outages. Buildings close. Seminars get canceled. The good restaurants aren't open.
2. It is possible to find a doctor and get a prescription for antibiotics even far from home, if you don't mind paying up front.
3. Other states have different reporting requirements for property damage car accidents. And duct tape covers up holes in your car nicely.
Not what I was supposed to learn but I learned something.

White chocolate is good, but 70% cocoa dark chocolate remains the best.
Speaking of white chocolate, my housemate baked a cake which could only be described as a white chocolate overkill - worst, it stay fresh for but a few days, so it's got to be eaten REALLY fast. Not that I mind, but this stuff is kinda rich. Oh well, I'll just eat lightly for the upcoming few days.
But as of now... /cracks open a can of caffeine

p.s. The C1,2,3 etc. usually refer to the pair of nerves leaving the vetrebrae. You have 4 divisions, each divided again regarding whereabouts in the body they go ;)

I have a strong suspicion that it simply decays, probably like tritium :yum: :holy:
