I was at my local Walmart and almost purchased this game this past weekend. But instead I am still in search of finding Baldur's Gate: ToB expansion pack. But this game did look really cool.

Can this game be a single player game or does it have to be played on the internet?

You can buy all the games from SP via Amazon and help support the site.

Anyway, yes, Dragonshard is single-player also. Primarily even, considering it's an RTS.

I got it, actually! And I love it. :)

The Eberron setting is quite different to me as I'm not familiar with it, but the game is DnD nonetheless. I'd compare it to Warcraft 3 - it has heroes, levels - it's very similiar to WC3. But the great thing about Dragonshard is that you can choose to venture down under the ground, to loot - something entirely new and the very thing that makes it less a clone of other RTS games. I love it so far, haven't played it all that much yet, but what I've played, I love soo much. :) Just wish it was FR though. That would be wicked!

Great game, thumbs up! ;)

"I am still in search of finding Baldur's Gate: ToB expansion pack"

Buy the ToB expansion twice before you even think of buying this game. Maybe, when you can find it for 10$, but even then you can find much better games. If you want a good single player experience you will be disappointed. I hear the multiplayer is good I haven't tried.

"the game is DnD nonetheless"

If you like this game, fine, I'm not going to debate whether you like it or not, but it is not D&D. There is nothing in this game that even remotely resembles D&D. The only reason they put D&D on the cover is for marketing purposes.

I see what you mean, and I agree, but you can't deny it's based upon the setting itself. As you say it's just a "shell" for marketing purposes - there are no rules that resembles the DnD ruleset in any way, so if that's one of your reasons to play it you'll surely be disappointed. I still think it's a good game. Enjoyable for what it is.
