Can anybody help??

Christian, R'syil is right, there's no need to reiterate your question less than an hour after your post. Someone will get to you eventually, usually BlackthorneTA tries to answer everyone who's not yet been helped. Be patient, child. ;) (In the future double posts like this will be deleted.)

Don't double post. It will get you the WRONG kind of attention from the mods :)
Use the Amulet of Power, it prevents Silence, if I remember rightly. Then do a Rush attack, slash em down fast and hard. Or why not just pay the $5000 in the political area? :)

Please specify exactly what you are fighting against! How many for example?
For now I assume you are fighting the three hired cowled wizards involved in a Jaheira quest.

I guess you're playing solo since you say that you have not removed the Xp cap.
Btw, we assume you have not removed the xp cap - and play by the rules - unless you say otherwise.

As you said, you start with protections active.
Any of the following are good: Stoneskin, Mirror Image, Blur, Invisibility, Spell Turning or Deflection, Haste.

- Round 1. The mages are busy "dimension dooring" in.
- Round 2. They remove your invisibility (and other illusion spells). They need to do this or else they can't directly target you since you're invisible.
- Round 3. They remove your Spell Turning/Deflection.
- Round 4. Now they can hurt you!

To beat them you could for example summon monsters during round 1 and 2. Or you could use a Web or Cloudkill or... anything to disrupt their spellcasting really.

There are really lots of ways to win against those three cowled wizards.

Christian!

Don't bother with building up your defense.
facing a Couple of Cowled Enforcers your only chance is quick and deadly offense.
I recommend the following spells.
If you are around the 10-th level use sunfire.
It doesn't hurt you but greatly hurts the cowled jerks up to 15D6 damage. Assuming that they save vs. spell they also receive a 15-25 average damage depending on your level.
The sunfire is a fast cast spell, so you have a good chance that the C. E.-s fail their concentration, and their spell also.
Repeat it few times and they'll be toast.
If you are high level enough(I mean at least 16) YOU MUST SELECT THE ABI DALZIM'S HORRID WILTING SPELL. Once I managed to kill three of the four enforcers in one cast with my sorcerer, and I survived a mage battle being overhelmed(4 against 1)

[See that little pencil and paper icon at the top of your post? You can edit your post to change offense to defense like I did for you instead of making another post about it... BTA]

Oh, Tin_Man, the mods are gonna come for you in the middle of the night for double posting instead of editing! ;)

I agree that going on the offensive right away and using Sunfire is a good idea.

Another is to load a spell sequencer with one or two Web spells and hit them with that. Maybe a Greater Malison too? Continuous area effect spells like Cloudkill and Death Fog may help disrupt their spells. It depends on what spells you have and how much time you have to hit them.

Which spells does your sorcerer have available?
