Sorry new here. Please help anyone, everyone.

I purchased the mac version of baldurs gate 2 SoA, I am wanting to change my portrait and the portraits of my other characters in my party (NPCs?).

2 QUESTIONS:
I have tried loading my custom .bmp image to my profile and I get a gray question mark. I have used the right specifications. Any pointers?

Changing other portraits - Someone mentioned I can change the portraits in the override directory? Explain how, please.

Note: I am not a programmer just a gamer that wants to customize my portraits. Simple is best.

Any help would be much appreciated.

That's a common problem with trying to use portraits that you just put in the portrait folder while the game was running. Quit out of the game (to desktop), then go back in and try it again. That's always worked for me.

All you need to do is put portraits in the override folder of the appropriate size and name, which will then automatically override the NPC's default portraits. As to what they are called, I may or may not be able to help you, as I use a PC and the names might be different between our versions. But if you give me the names of the ones you want to change, I can tell you what the names are on my version and hopefully they'll be the same.
