I just went into the room in the bridge district that requires the rogue stone. I think the dialogue mentioned something about the twisted rune. Anyway, I got in and killed everything (at a cost of three of my people) but I can't get out.

How do I get out of the room after I have gone in?

You need the eye of the Beholder that was there. Make some Beholder eye stew to activate the machine on the other side of the room. That machine is the way out.

i was really dissapointed with that battle, i was expecting a really hard fight that i would have to try a few times, and i did it in one go.. the mage woman even killed her own pit fiend instead of letting me fight it..

Spud, I don't think the question is do you think that fight was easy or hard there, just how to get out.

Is this the room on the Southeastern edge of the area? The little house that has a tough party inside? I don't know anything about a rogue stone, but I just went in there to check it out and those guys put a hurtin' onme. After two tries I killed them all with no losses. whats the story about a rogue stone? Did I miss something cool (again)?

That's the door on the same house where you get a part for Kangaxx.

Also a point - it is a bit northeast from the door where bastards hold a woman - err, remember the quest with a person burried alive?

Possibly you missed it. There are two doors (both trapped) in the south west area of the bridge district (near where you find the man in red from the buried alive quest). One of them is connected with the Lich Kangrix quest(spelling). Around the corner to the right is another door that you can open but can't enter unless you have a rogue stone. You get a message along the lines of 'you wonder what would happen if you stepped into the blackness.' Inside is a hell of a fight and some good kit if you have a mage in the party.

OK, I haven't messed with either of those yet. There is a place in the SE corner with a high level party that immediatelyt attacks you. No story connection ASAIK. Anyone else?
I do know about the mercenary group with the smart mouth group leader, though. Haven't fought them yet...

Orkrist the Cleaver, yep I know the place you mean now. I remember meeting this group ealry on in my first game and getting a good kicking. I seem to remember there is a mixture of clerics, fighters and mages (can't remember the details). The mage summoned a demon that lead to me issueing the command to 'run away!!'. The room you meet them in looks like a sort of dockyard storage room - nothing special. I think it is the same set they use for the (nearly) abandoned cottage in the druid grove area. As to who the group are, I have met and defeated them on three occasions now and have never noticed any reprecussions or storyline developments relating to them. I have also never been able to talk to them. I guess that they are just a random fight encounter.

PS the mercenary group in the pub are related to another quest that you can pick up later. SPOILER. if you cast the limited wish spell and ask for an adventure like never before, you get a piece of paper that starts a quest involving the mercenaries.

Yes, that is the room. If the initial question wasnot about this room, what room is it? As for the mercenaries, I tried a few times to kill them with no luck. Now I have the limited wish spell but I'm in the Underdark. When I return to Amn, I may check in on these fellows.

However it is only a spoiler as it tells you were to find the room, which is what you want to know. So don't be put off reading that 'Spoiler'. :)
