While you are searching for clues before the Trial, you get the opportunity to go to the Moonstone Mask and ask Ophalia about Torio. If you give the right answers and praise Sand for helping you, you gain a point of influence with him.

When I was doing this, I discovered that after that dialogue, if you choose to ask her questions again, the option to ask about Torio is still available and you can go through it again, gaining another point with Sand. I could do it over and over as long as I liked and gained an additional point each time!

Have no idea what kind of bug this is, but it was certainly a very useful one! ;)

What version are you playing? I thought that bug had been fixed in one of the patches.

I have version 1.04. Is there a newer one?

No, 1.04 is current. The beta for 1.05 is out but I was playing using 1.03 and 1.04. That is weird. Oh well, if it works it works although you don't really need to boost influence with Sand that much.

You just have to decide which of Qara or Sand you like better and make sure that character has the higher influence. After that it really does not matter what the actual influence score is.

speaking of influence bugs:

if you have elanee with you in eyegouger lair (act1) and decide to free the imprisoned wolves, you can talk to their leader a few times to get a massive boost with elanee (i could manage +10 until they all disappeared)

this is particularly usefull, if you want to keep both elanee and neeshka

1.04 , btw

If you examine the Construct after Grobnar has repaired it, you have the possibility to upgrade it with the skills Craft Alchemy, Craft Armor and Craft Weapon.

If you do it with Sand in the party and your Craft Alchemy skill isn't enough, he'll chime in and suggest that he will do it.

If you say to him: "Go ahead, I trust you", you will gain +1 influence with him. This can repeated as many times you want.

Works with patch 1.03 and 1.04.

If anyone is interested to see his actual influence with his respectibe NPCs - you can check by viewing the respective .xml files, located in the savefiles, in any decent editor (UltraEdit in my case). The tagging is self evident. Search string is also self-evident: influence

I found out that Neeska absolutely loves me (influence 19), followed by Elanee/ Sand/ Shandra (influence 8), Cassavir (6) and Bishop (3). Khelgar is unimpressed (influence 2).

You can see your influence with all the NPC's in the file Globals.xml in the savegames folders. Can be viewed by Internet Explorer also.

Another way to see influence is to use Debug Mode.

Open the Debug Console:

For British keyboards use the (`) key,
For American keyboards use the (~) key,

Type:

DebugMode 1
Left click on the chosen character.
Type: rs kr_influence
Debugmode 0
