I've only ever found two Red Dragon Scales in the game, one from the Dragon him/herself and one from a merchant in Neverwinter in Act III. Since you need three scales to make an armor and don't get to keep your inventory items into MotB, I figured there has to be a third scale somewhere.

But where?

I never found the third one if it indeed exists.

It doesn't.

There has been some threads about it on the official spoiler forum.

No one has ever found more than two.

So why would they even put it in the game then? You don't even get to keep them for MotB ..

True. IIRC there is also only one Wyvern hide in the game, so you can't craft anything out of that either...

Then again you can only craft scale mail, breastplate or half-plate out of Red Dragon Scales. It's really not that interesting IMHO.

There's always the console to create more if need be. Generally I prefer Adamantine heavy armor to dragon scale since it gives dr 3/-

If you are into heavy armor with fire resistance, you can buy a Red Dragon full plate, if you build the NW9 tower.

You can craft a salamander hide leather armor or studded leather amor.

And finally you can craft a mithril or adamantine armor with fire resistance 30.

You can buy another dragon scale from the temple of lathander in Blacklake.

I ran into it just now. Might not be a bad idea to post it on the NWN2 forums so you can get some credit for knowing something the community doesn't :p . I don't go there often.

Thank you omnigodly ! Finally! Crafting items makes my roleplaying heart pump and Dragon armor is just the King of the forest ;)

Weird. I never ran into that at the temple of Lathander.

It must have been implemented in either patch 1.06 or 1.10.

Nice to see developers listen to the community.
