Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault (http://nwvault.ign.com) from Obsidian Forums (http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showforum=21). Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

<hr />I would just be happy with less of the head moving back and forth to simulate talking. That got to be very annoying.<hr />Rest assured that the characters will have lip synching.

Interface ('http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=15165&hl=')
<hr />I thought the interface was fine in the Original Neverwinter, even going so far as to say one of the strong points for the game. Though, that's not to say that it cant be improved upon, I just think of anything at the moment...<hr />The old GUI API is dead, buried, under a ton of bricks with another scheduled ton of bricks coming next week some time. We'll be starting from scratch and writing our own GUI API. That's not to say that functionally it won't be similar, but everything under the hood had to go as it was intimately tied to the old rendering engine. To that end, we have the opportunity to add some customization features that people should like.

we are a little tight-lipped about technical issues at this point (out of necessity), but sometime next year all the details will emerge. Changing the head selection scheme is on the schedule, so you can be assured that it will not be the same as the original NWN.
More : <hr />Drop the "head" image on the character creation menu, and split it into two sections. "Facial Feature" and "Hair" Just adds that much more to character identity and uniqueness (simmilar to the facial coustomization system in Morrowind.)<hr />Already in the programming/art schedule. We can't go into details now, but character's heads will be much more customizable.
Physics ('http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=15219&hl=')
There will be some level of physics within the game. At the very least, objects will shatter uniquely (no animated psuedo-physics) which will allow us to have breakable objects throughout levels (ie pillars that topple when big-baddie001 is killed, etc.) Because they are physics objects, something like throwing a fireball at a bunch of CRATES would make them all explode 'outward' from the center of the blast. One thing we will be waiting on is how the artists/designers react to what is in there and how they use it.
