Robes ('http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=19029&hl=')
I think it's safe to say that you'll get much better robes. NWN was a part based model - whereas all modern games use single meshes - which makes stuff like robes a lot easier to do. Also we're significantly increasing the polycount on the character models...so no worries there mate. Robes will look great; even if do I say so myself....

Appearances ('http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=19564&hl=')
Quick note on the run here: - The various height of the races is specified in the handbooks. We'll probably be allowing you to adjust your height, but only within the structure defined by 3.5 rules...Those who want to repurpose NWN into a non-FR campaign will have to do some dancing - you can always put skin textures or new meshes into your own hakpacks (or whatever our new solution for that is)...but for the main game we're going to concentrate on offering more FR choices, rather than stuff from other settings...

More: yup yup, your right - FR handbook does say close to same height as humans...it's just that someone said something about taller, and I dont think that's the case...hm...let me look at my PHB - ok, so their shorter in the PHB...ok, I'll go get a ruling on that... and that my friends is exactly how geeky we are. *grin*.

Time Limits ('http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=19401&hl=')
In re time limits, time limits can indeed be cool. But I think a lot of good RPGs have so much depth and life that when a player is faced with a time limit they don't have time to smell the roses. Most games that have had time limits of any significant nature patch them relatively quickly. So as appealing as they are, conventional wisdom is that they cause too many problems to implement.

Suggestions ('http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=19374&hl=')
Just to second some of what J.E. Sawyer had to say. The suggestions that have left the biggest impression on me are from people that are at least being polite. And it's funny how the equivalent of forum footnotes have some real great stuff to them. I have a medium think hide (giving me a +3 to my AC, woot! Pity about my armor check penalty, though) so I can take the stings of the board trolls. But I routinely gloss over some folks' feedback because they have been very negative and have established an unproductive reputation in my mind. And that's probably a charitable assessment. At the end of the day, if there's an idea someone loves their best bet is a cogent argument and a polite demeanor.

Martial Arts ('http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=19451&hl=')
Marital arts? I thought we made it clear already we weren't making that kind of game.
