I am trying to open the door on the first level of the opening dungeon. I have scoured the level and the second level, please help. When trying to open the door it says it needs a statue or figurine to open the door.

You need the AIR ELEMENTAL STATUE which is found in Jon Irenicus' Room, that room being the one JUST BEFORE the Dryads that are outside near their trees. Search the room as there is a compartment by the fireplace that is holding it.
