Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault (http://nwvault.ign.com) from Obsidian Forums (http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showforum=21). Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

To trot out a well-worn phrase, you can't please everybody all of the time. We're trying to make a game that all of you will enjoy, but the desires and expectations of each individual player are going to vary.

<hr />To close, I just want to state, even though this may sound as if its a 'hostile' post, it is not. I'm merely stating my view/opinion/what have you...<hr />Just because you go out of your way to say it's a "non-hostile" post...doesn't necessarily make it a "non-hostile" post.

That aside, you were right that these forums were created for community interaction, "feedback" and "civil" conversation regarding ideas for the game. They were NOT created for us to scurry around trying to honor your every beck and call.

We want to please the community and we want to give you guys as much of and as many of the features that you guys request (within reason). But there are limits, technical or otherwise which often times prevent us from being able to implement a specific feature. Believe me, we don't say "no" for the fun/heck of it, as though it was somewhat implied. Whether you think you know better than us or not...is a discussion better left for another place and day.

Gameplay mechanic to avoid trudging long distances... (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com//forums/viewpost.html?topic=411439&post=3406849&forum=98&highlight=)
We have some planned solutions to address this concern. Repetitive travel can be a drag, so we want to be courteous to the player.

Anything on the Story? (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com//forums/viewpost.html?topic=410812&post=3406853&forum=97&highlight=)
The main character doesn't have any form of amnesia or memory loss.

-Ferret, who ironically can comment more on what NWN2 doesn't have than what it has.

Script Function Wish List (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com//forums/viewpost.html?topic=410969&post=3401351&forum=100&highlight=)
Can I get a list of script functions that NWN scripters would like to see added? I'm sure this has been discussed 100's of times over already, but I'd appreciate a concise, clean thread on the subject. Please don't argue with each other's 'wish-list' posts in this thread, just make clear posts of your own stating what script functions would make your NWN scripting life easier or let you do things that you couldn't before. I'm not talking about language features here (Like asking for arrays). Just script functions, please. As always, no promises on any of these making it into the game, but I'd at least like to have a list of requests on hand that I can run by the leads with.

More : Thanks for the function requests so far. I just wanted to let you know that I am reading them, though I don't have the time to say anything more specific than that at this time. A good number of these requests would have to be squeezed into my schedule somewhere, so basically I'm making more work for myself by trying to fit these in. But I want to open as many possibilites for module makers as we can, so I'm gonna see what I can do. Anyway, I'll post more specific comments and feedback on the requests over time, but feel free to keep the requests coming in to this thread so I can keep better track of them.
