OK, I've found the bird and Xzar has been killed, but Jaheira hasn't got the call yet. What am I doing wrong? I must've rested about 7 times now.

It should happen when it happens, although for myself she left right after I did the quest for Xzar.

Agreed, my first time through she got 'the call' after I cleared out the Keep. This time through BG2 she got 'the call' when I reached Windspear Hills. I never went back for her, she's still there in the Harpor Hold. I'm in Chap 6 now, I may visit her to get Imoen some additional XP but then I'll dump her again.

Don't hold your breath...I got the call after returning from the Underdark.

How did it happen for you guys? For me, I had to sleep out in the wilderness... The first time it happened I was in the Temple Ruins map on my way to completing the final ranger quest where I pick up my doggie buddy... But after it happened I restored to an earlier save (forgot why) got through the temple ruins, did a bunch of other stuff in the city then came back to the Umar Hills to try to get it to happen again... First time I slept there it was!

Also, for me, both times I was awakened from sleep by bandits who take Jaheira hostage, I take an arrow for her, mop up the bandits, and after a final conversation with Jaheira, out pops the messenger to summon her away...

I had the same thing after the bandits (why was no-one keeping watch?)

Then we meet up and.....

We join up again - go to Harpers - they want to imprison me - I say no way - we fight the harpers - we win (piece of cake) - and i get a GREAT ring of Wizardry that I had never heard of before (a new 5th, 6th and 7th level spell) NICE

Sure was an odd thing however. But Miss J DID stand by me which was nice - against the Harpers.

Quite why and how all this happened is beyond me....ho hum...lets beat up more Vamps

If you don't take the quest from Xzar, will you still get these Harper quests?

Hey Thaumas, so what was the answer? I'm stuck in the same boat, having just told Aerie I prefer older women! If turning down Xzar (for good roleplay reasons) I get no Harpers Quests and no Jaheria Romance then I'm SoL. Lightly grilled Drow anyone?
