Long Range Targeting? (http://nwn.bioware.com//forums/viewpost.html?topic=472771&post=4022138&forum=48&highlight=)
Have you considered implementing the ability as an instant feat? From my work using it, I can target anything regardless of range. And for a DM tool, the instant aspect of it would come in handy, as you don't suffer from delays from activating an item to do whatever you want to do.
You still suffer from line of sight though, as objects over 6 tiles away or so start fading out. But even upping the area fog allows you to select locations from any distance.

You'll have to export the model and save it under a new name, along with the new texture assigned to it as another name so it doesn't override the existing one. Then you'll have to duplicate the appropriate line of the creature from the appearance.2da file and tell it to point to the new model.
