Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault (http://nwvault.ign.com). It's funny how things get mis-interpreted etc.

I don't believe anybody (Dev-wise at least) ever said there would be pretty pictures burned into the skybox. There won't be. Everything will be real 3D geometry. That way the sky horizon can also match the color of the fog and "local" will fade smoothly and accordingly off into the distance.

Horizon object will always be on the horizon and will always be the color of the fog. There will be enough of a slight contrast between them and the sky so that you can still make out the fact that there is something large and waaaay off in the distance. Make sense?

<hr />Ah, I see now. It still won't be that big of a performance hit, because the horizon objects will be at mimimal LOD.<hr />Exactly. As well as minimal poly count and will require no real lighting as well, since they're fully fogged.
