Our game runs great and looks great on all of our supported cards, regardless of vendor.
You're welcome. http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_good.gif

It is true though -- the visual fidelity on either of the major vendors is pretty much equal. I attribute that to the fact that we've written the rendering engine to the DX9 spec. and not tried to get out there crazy with vendor specific features.
Like Nathan said, you'd be better suited taking into consideration the specific performance capabilities of the GPU when looking to buy.

Considering ATI is in danger of a corporate takeover, I would suggest a GeForce card. They BY FAR have better driver support, are more reliable for plug and play gaming, and you can play OpenGL games without having to use 3rd party drivers.
Besides the fact that 7900's and 7950's outperform the x1900's
Don't believe the fanboy he always babbles crap like that.
The fanboy worked for Atari support for almost 4 years. The fanboy logged thousands of NWN lockup calls. The fanboy noticed that about 80+ percent of said lockup calls had Radeon video cards. The fanboy can read benchmarks and 7900s and 7950s own the x1900s. The fanboy also wasn't guessing about ATI being in danger of a takeover, it's in the news. The fanboy also knows that ATI has basically been incapable of competing with Nvidia for well over a year.
The fanboy hasn't played NWN2. Our game runs great and looks great on all of our supported cards, regardless of vendor. I'd look more to the performance features of the GPU than to the vendor when making my decision to upgrade.
