I'm a level 7 Wizard and I'd like to know how to become specialised in a school of magic.
Specializations are chosen when the first level of the Wizard class is taken (ie. at character creation or when first multi-classing into it).

Also I'd like to know whether it is worth multiclassing into a Paladin or a Fighter (Or both)
There are some builds that class the two together, but it depends on what kind of effect you're looking to get from the class combination. Wearing armor interferes with spellcasting, and lower Wizard levels mean your spells will be more easily resisted and your spell progression is slower.
Nevertheless, try searching the boards and see what kinds of multiclass combinations come up for those. There might be something that interests you.

whether a Greatsword is better than a Haldberd (both are +1)
Greatswords deal 2d6 damage, giving them a superior range of 2-12 (plus 1.5 times your strength modifier). Unless you have any feats giving you bonuses for using the halberd, it's not really going to compare.
