Heya caesar, good to see you on these forums, too. http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
<hr />Also the beta stages seemed to go by rather quickly. Is there harm in simply waiting on the betas a bit longer?<hr />The question there is, a bit longer for what? We wait as long as feels right based on a number of things, such as bug report flow, severity, and other factors. After a while, there is no point in waiting any longer. Sometimes you have to launch and waiting longer doesn't buy you anything. This is pretty much from doing this for four years. http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

<hr />What about blocking the bioware ip so then you can allow to the clients play without authentication of the cdkeys?<hr />Well, by blocking the master server you're deactivating server vault security, which is an open invitation to everyone to log in under different account names and have fun.

1.68 Cloaks (http://nwn.bioware.com//forums/viewpost.html?topic=494920&post=4293048&forum=42&highlight=)
<hr />My only problem is Clothing Dye seems to do nothing to change the color of them, im all for cloaks but those default tan ones are so not my color.<hr />Cloaks use colors from all palettes (leather, metal, cloth), so it really depends on the type of cloak which effect a dye has.

More: <hr />It seems that dyeing in cloak does not work if the module uses the CEP. At least my customize character hak has the same problem if a module uses the CEP.<hr />Let me state that very clearly:

Like with every patch, CEP IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 1.68 UNTIL UPDATED. THINGS WILL BREAK, NOT WORK, LOOK FUNNY AND SO ON IF YOU ARE USING CEP.

Once CEP has been updated by the Community, these problems should go away.

More: Just to note - we have never been able to reproduce reported crashes linked to the HotU animations and without being able to make them happen, we can't fix them.

If someone has a *reliable* way of reproducing it that doesn't require a huge team to work on and hours of time (because we don't have either for NWN), make sure to send it to nwbugs@bioware.com.

<hr />I for one dont like the null cloak idea. If players wear a cloak, they should see the cloak. If they dont want to see a cloak on their avatars, they simply shouldn't wear a cloak.

You can't have a cake and eat it too.<hr />Some people like it one way, some people the other. Frankly, we probably have to make a call as we don't have the resources to make everything as optional and userfriendly as possible at this point.

That call will leave some people unhappy, but it's the nature of the beast that some people are unhappy.

First, we strongly believe that the absolute majority of people here want visible cloaks - just like horses they had always been a high priority wishlist item.

At this point, we expect the people that are in the community to be so proficient with creating custom content and their own resource and rules changes - the community has solved much more complicated puzzles in the past.

It's not that we're opposed to adding certain options - as Derek said, it would have been great if someone had brought that up during beta and it would have been great if more than a handful of dedicated people would participate in the betas...

I'm not even sure why I'm explaining this anymore anyway, it's one of those 'suck it up princess' decision of which we've made plenty in the past (Arrogant Designer God complex and all) http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif

More: <hr />I only wished visible cloaks had been implemented in such a way that they defaulted to null unless playing in a module built with them... <hr />We would never have done that - add a feature like that and then deactivate it by default, because that the majority of people want their cloaks visible.

More: <hr />So, yo're proud of visable cloaks huh? Well huuu raa for you.

Why didnt you spend time fixing human female models to hold staves or anything in hands ? Or Head height...????

Cloaks ... what a waste .. *sigh*

yea.. I know i'm not gonna hear a word for you....<hr />Hmm, head heights you say.

Those were like fixed patches ago.

But you would know that if you would play the game instead of trolling http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Thanks for playing princess, please come again.

Patch 1.68 FAQ (http://nwn.bioware.com//forums/viewpost.html?topic=494847&post=4294541&forum=42&highlight=)
<hr />I've discovered that a wonderful fella just created a 2da override to remove the new 1.68 cloaks. I personally don't like them for reasons that I've already posted.
If anyone else out there feels the same, go here Click Here (http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=6934)
The 2da worked just fine. At least for me. I have over 23000 files in my override and it solved all my problems. So it should work for anyone else.<hr />Ugh, with 23000 files in override, you're probably running some resources from patch 1.18 still http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif Seriously, your game would run twice as fast with a clean override http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

NWN 1.68 Glow / Mouseover Glitch (a.k.a. 'Glowing Mystery Tails')? (http://nwn.bioware.com//forums/viewpost.html?topic=495149&post=4292991&forum=42&highlight=)
Looks like the glow is picking up the invisible cloak bones that are part of the animation supermodel.
