Is Imoen's xp the same when you find her or do they bump her up to the level of the party,also when you encounter npc's later in the game(after underdark)are they bumped up as well?

as to your question, yes they do get more XP, but only to a certain level. You can read specificly what the differences are in Extremist's post following the link
