Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault (http://nwvault.ign.com). Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

whos been waiting to play? (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=545758&post=4783244&forum=109&highlight=)
<hr />If I hadn't been aware of some of the issues before I bought the game I would be extremely annoyed.
As it is I am disappointed. The graphics impress and performance seems a lot better on my system than others here are reporting (pretty much maxed out detail, 1600 x 1050 but no AA), but I have run into a major problem with display corruption which I am now almost certain is a NWN2 issue (see: Click Here (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=545720&forum=116) )
Patch 1.04 actually made it worse.
Appart from the fact that the game is now unplayable for me everything is hunkydorey! http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Its not the game per se that makes me angry its that any game was ever allowed to be released in this state - no other product would get away with being sold like this.
HOWEVER. I will wait at least until 1.05 before I start hitting my head against the wall.
So to answer the original post. Yes, I have to wait until I can play the game http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_mad.gif <hr />If you get graphics corruption imediately it can be an issue with directX or your video card driver needing to be updated.
If the graphics corruption happens after a bit of time, then it is usually your video card overheating.
I don't know if you looked into those possibilities, but that's where I would start.
edited because I like to post in the middle of quotes and can't tell http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_redface.gif
More: <hr />The game is wonderful apart from the lack of antialiasing (and somehow the game doesn't even accept antialiasing from the nVidia control panel!) although perhaps in one of the patches this was fixed (I'm still running 1.00 because of the bad things I've seen about patches hiding things in the menus and such).<hr />Patches are your friend. Do not fear the patches. Give me cookies.
Save Game Corruption (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=544301&post=4783259&forum=109&highlight=)
I have PMd a few people to no avail.
I am trying to get a copy of some of the corrupt saves so we can troubleshoot them. If you are willing to give me a copy of your saves, please PM me and I will get back to you with the information you will need to FTP the saves to me.
Thanks.
Patch 1.04 Final: Bugs (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=545775&post=4783507&forum=109&highlight=)
<hr />Selune, could you help me with this problem? Or have i erroneously posted under the wrong topic?

I just tried to patch, but this is what I got as an abort code:
Patching File Data\2DA.zip
An incorrect version of the file was found on your system.
The update was unable to complete, since the file contents were incorrect.
C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\Data\2DA.zip
File Size: 921843
File CheckSum: 62b2afe8d37a88db08ac65b78471f2a0
For assistance, please visit Atari's support web page.
http://www.atarisupport.com
The patch has been aborted
Any help would be appreciated.
More: <hr />Rob,
I don't think that I have mods in the 2da files, but it's possible if I have downloaded modules from the archive (correct?). What do I have to do to fix this (short of un-, then re-installing)?<hr />I believe the only thing you can do is copy the original file from a backup.. if that doesn't work, or you don't have a backup, you will need to get a copy from someone else. Only other thing you can do is reinstall.
The 2DA files in the install directory are not meant to be modified.
Path of Evil, OC remastered? (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=541862&post=4783882&forum=111&highlight=)
There have been some questions about whether it is legal to modify NWN2’s OC and post those changes on NW Vault. I am not a lawyer, so what I am going to say should not be taken as legal advice or any modification or change to the EULA that comes with NWN2. Having said that, as long as no form of income or proceeds is generated for anyone from modifying the OC I believe that there should be no legal ramifications of posting modifications of the OC on NW Vault.
1.04 issues with AMD XP and AMD 64 users (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=546308&post=4785350&forum=109&highlight=)
What kind of problems are you guys having? I have seen a couple reports so far, but I need to know if the issues are wide-spread or if they are localized to those couple installs.
Any feedback would be helpful.
More: As for problems.. I am looking mostly for crashes.
For the exe, if you run the game from the launcher or the start menu, it will automatically run the amd exe.
Toolset ISN'T FIXED! (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=544807&post=4785391&forum=116&highlight=)
Hi guys, normally I don't jump into the self-help forums, but it looks like you guys may have a bigger issue than self-help can solve.
What I am getting from the thread is that you are clicking on the shortcut and you are either getting a flash of a window, then nothing or you just get nothing. In some cases there is an error message and in some cases there isn't, correct?
If you all could just list out some system specs for me, that would be a big help. let's see if there are any commonalities:
Processor:
Operating System:
RAM:
Free space on MyDocuments drive:
Video Card:
Game Version:
Country Version:
I used to have this same issue with SimCity2000. I was never able to get it fixed, unfortunately, but let's see if we can work something out here. At the very least, we may be able to identify an incompatibility issue and have it resolved for a future patch.
More: <hr />All the tinkering with the settings, downloading patches, and all I had to do was be online...
<hr />I just double-checked... You do not need a network/internet connection for the toolset to start. Maybe it just needed a while on your computer.
More: No worries.. Your find may help others.
