nwn era comes to and end (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=551415&post=4849777&forum=109&highlight=)
As a game developer, the comparison between any and all games is a healthy exercise.
For me, when there is a comparison between NWN1 and NWN2 there are different areas that can be compared. Some people compare the state of each game at the same relative point along its lifecycle. Being that NWN2 was made by a different developer and based on an old codebase, that is a valid comparison because the comparison is more about the state of the code.
Another comparison that can be made are the design decisions. That is more of a comparison between the companies. The differences in how each company approached combat animations, for example.
Another comparison that can be made is between the state and attitude of the community.
You could also make a comparison of the market and game industry environment at the time of each game's release.
From within the industry, comparisons are always made. We compare WoW to Dawn of War. We compare NWN2 to BG2. It's healthy and it's a great way to get better games.
In gaming communities, comparisons are altogether different and usually not healthy. It comes down to preference, ideology and flaming. There are those few people in every gaming forum that are truly interested in seeing the betterment of the game. There are also those few that truly want to see the downfall of a company and the game. But, for the majority of the gaming market, by far the vast majority of people will not take part in a community.

PW Client Crashes (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=544478&post=4850290&forum=118&highlight=)
I have some good news and some no news for this:
1. The good news is we have managed to resolve the ranger crash and save corruption issues. It appears camouflage was causing some problems so that has been fixed. Rangers should no longer crash servers. I am not sure what patch this will be released in.
2. For the crashes on transitions, we would like to work with some PW owners out there. We would like to experiment a bit and that may involve getting a copy of your mod, being able to log in as a DM on your server (we won't interferre with any events you are running) and being able to run around as a player OOC (though we will again, try not to interferre with any events. We may also need you to install a small application to capture some crash/problem data from your server. Please PM me if you are a PW Owner and willing to help with this.
2da Line limits (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=551632&post=4850322&forum=115&highlight=)
There are some limits around 250 right now, but many of those limits are greatly increased in the next patch.

If you can, I would suggest going back to a save from before entering Tavorick's estate. That way it clears out any variables you set by going inside the estate.

Plans are to release it with 1.05.
Your Questions (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=535843&post=4852046&forum=114&highlight=)
<hr />I've just seen Rich Taylor's comment on the new 1.05 parameter for 2DA cachesize and the new Clear2DACache() script comand.
Can the Clear2DACache() be extended to Clear2DACache(string 2DAfile = "") to be able to reset single 2DA files without jepardizing the rest of the cache?<hr />The parameter has been added for 1.06.

<hr />One thing that would be great to see is script function to manipulate the UIs.
I mean manipulate them just like you manipulate DOM objects in javascript....<hr />That would be really nice, but it's probably out of scope of anything that will be implemented any time soon. I wouldn't rule the idea out, but I can't really say that we'll ever get to it either.
