Custom Races/Subraces (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=564568&post=5086207&forum=115&highlight=)
No worries. I think things are a little confused here.
The ability to add NEW custom classes, races and subraces is fixed. You can now go beyond row 54. This was a problem in previous versions of the game.

There are many things on that list even I would agree with, but it comes down to personal preference. Such as, like many, I didn't care for the radial menu. I also didn't care for inventory tetris and much prefer the icon system, though I think some of the icons could be improved.
As long as the feedback comes in and isn't full of insults, it gets listened to. While we may not change the way something was done, we may make changes to allow you to make adjustments so the game is the way you like it. I know many disagree with the tactic, but to us, it is more important to empower you than to change it for you. it just opens so many more doors for the community.

You guys need to bring this thread back on topic.
There are any number of other NWN1 vs. NWN2 threads out there already.

<hr />As for getting off topic, No. This is still very much in topic, Rob. The whole reason they "Dumped" on NWN2 was due to the toolset. I, for one, enjoy NWN2 much more then the first one.<hr />It's about the NWN2 toolset, but not NWN1. You can actually talk about NWN2 without talking about NWN1. Comparing the two always just leads to flames between the two sets of fans. That will get this thread locked, and I want to avoid that.

<hr />Obsidian vastly overestimated the importance of their product and the amount dedication that they could expect you to have to it. Which at the end off the day smacks of a certain amount of conceit.<hr />Be careful of the dev bashing. Talk about the game, not the people that made it.
More: (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=570302&post=5088534&forum=109&highlight=) While it's often like trying to herd dire cats that have attention deficit disorder, it's not all bad.
Most people in here are very passionate about their opinions on RPGs and the NWN series especially. I don't begrudge their opinions, but I can ask that they voice them in a respectable and mature manner.
Toolset issues with 1.06 final (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=569226&post=5088662&forum=113&highlight=)
From this list, these are the issues that are valid (can be reproduced)
1. Unable to search for scripts on creatures. (Should be fixed in 1.07)
2. Red Roofs (should be fixed in 1.07)
3. Undo removes water (should be fixed in 1.07)
4. Opening dialog opens the Animations Tab (Which tab would you like it to open?)
5. Toggle between male/female model in Armor Set Tab (should be fixed in 1.07)
Issues mentioned in this thread that we cannot reproduce:
1. Erasing grass crashes the toolset (no crashes experienced)
2. Std Interior Open_floor variation 4 crashes toolset (No crashes for any variation)
3. Opening 3 exteriors crashes toolset (no crashes experienced)
4. Using PerceptionRngPlayer on a creature makes the creature disappear (no issue found)
5. Autocomplete does not work in scripting See this thread (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=570919&forum=113)
If you guys have any further information for these last five issues that may help with reproducing the issue, please let me know.
"Autocomplete" not working with 1.06 (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=570919&post=5088817&forum=113&highlight=)
A lot of people have been commenting that autocomplete no longer works with 1.06.
To be accurate, there are two features that many people refer to as autocomplete. The first open a small list box while you are typing and allows you to select functions from it.
The second displays a tooltip when you type an open parenthesis after a function name. This is the one most people have trouble with - when they type the ( character, the tooltip does not display.
So, what is going on is actually the same thing that happens in Visual Studio: the scripting system has detected something that will result in a compiler error before it has gotten to the function itself. As an example, the most common reason for this would be that the coder has not closed a function that the problem function is nested in. For example, code that looks like this:
void main()
{
abs(
will not show the tooltip because the curly brace starting the main function is not closed.
So if you make sure you close your functions first, then go back and start entering the nested function, the tooltip should work.
Hope this helps. If it's unclear, let me know.
Growing the NWN2 Community Garden (http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=569900&post=5088844&forum=109&highlight=)
<hr />First off, Diademus:
Wow, your work is outstanding! I got that tileset yesterday, and have to go vote a 10 tonight! Great work, and THANKS!
Okay, also this: I love NWN1, and I love NWN2. I also love steak, and I also love shrimp. Let's all just eat what we like, and if we like steak AND shrimp, hell let's eat 'em both, I say!
But folks, this thread is not about NWN1. Let's strive to positively focus on ways to grow this Community (there you go Dunniteowl, I Capped it).
I see some excellent ideas and suggestions, and it is inspiring to learn of places and people who are actively promoting and contributing to NWN2. Viva la Community!
One idea that coalesced while reading a post here about folks submitting Characters was the fact that we could take advantage of time leveraging in this community to a huge degree. For example, if there was some sort of matching service where needs and talents could be exchanged, without the hassle or commitment of joining an actual team (nothing wrong with teams, sorry) we could all benefit.
Suppose we have a girl who can create excellent outdoor areas, and she wants a carousel placeable (magical bolts of energy fly from it when it is approached. I dunno). She posts her request, and then reads the other requests, searching for those that meet her skillset (Terrain building). She sees where a guy needs a small stone village nestled above a lake, with a massive waterfall spilling down. There is an image, description, etc.
She supplies him, and he supplies her. The results are available for anyone to get.
The idea is that few people will ever master all aspects of the Toolset, but most people will find their niche talent area. I for one would welcome a dedicated repository of prefab areas, terrain types, etc. Somebody out there can sculpt a perfect replica of Gnoll Pass, north of Cormyr, and I can use it in my module.
It is my belief that no aspects of creation, including those Characters mentioned previously, are unimportant. A well designed character, with a description, equipment, etc, is worth a lot to me, and I am sure others.
All in all, I am quite encouraged by the responses in this thread, and I hope for many more that show us ways to grow this garden.
Regards,
JFK<hr />I think this is a great idea. A matchmaking service to match up talents and needs is a great community builder.

Hello.
Thank you for your email. We are sorry you are having launch issues. We suspect you are receiving this error message as a result of the use of an emulation program that tampers registry keys.
To fix your registry entries please follow the instructions below:
Note: These tampered entries have NOT been caused by SecuROM™. Please also note, you should only delete duplicate entries and not any others. SecuROM™ is not liable for any problems caused by using these instructions. We provide them only as a service and to assist with repairing the launch issue.
Please open the registry editor (Start->Run->regedit) and move to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \MountedDevices\ area (by clicking on this folder, you will see all the entries on the right side). Look at the entries with an alpha designation (ie: \DosDevices \Letter_Here). You should see one of entries with letters with duplicate entries. If you delete the duplicate entry (right mouse click and choose 'Delete' from the choices), you should be able to exit RegEdit and launch your program.
If the problem persists, please delete all REG_BINARY entries in this folder (only blue ones on the right side). Reboot your computer immediately, the entries will be re-established, and the game should start.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Best regards,
SecuROM Support Team<hr />Oooh yea: careful there.
Let me know if this helps you. For those of you with the experimental .exe, you might try this and see if it helps, but only do it if you are comfortable working in your registry. You can seriously mess up your computer if you do the wrong thing.
