I've found that unlinking from any parents first prior to the ResetXforms helps from the "sticky pivot" issue, which results in a model looking like it's exploded in NWN.

Which Premium Modules are you playing when the issue occurs?
It could certainly be an issue with your router or firewall. Check out this FAQ entry about firewall/router configuration: Click Here (http://store.bioware.com/help/faq.html?faqID=32#14)
Try disabling all other programs running in the background when you're playing.
Have you tried contacting your ISP? It's unlikely but always possible that you're encountering a service issue.

Disappearing bodies (http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=571468&post=5102635&forum=49&highlight=)
This can happen for creatures wearing robes if you have turned all your graphics settings down to the minimum.
In the game's video options menu either turn on Evironment Mapping, or bump up the Texture pack setting to something higher than the minimum.
Enter game cd on HoU (http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=571931&post=5102652&forum=49&highlight=)
Not sure exactly why you'd only have one CD, unless you have the Diamond edition (which comes on DVD).
If you download and install the critical rebuild it should get you up and running:
