1.69 Request Thread (part 9) (http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewpost.html?topic=570838&post=5172666&forum=42&highlight=)
Well, I talked to Derek the other day and he says it doesn't seem like it would be a problem with me doing this content alpha server.

I got bored last night and worked on that batch file a bit more. It now breaks up the HAKs into it's related ones (2da, critters, tilesets, etc), and only updates the relevant HAKs if rsync has downloaded anything for them. Cuts down on packaging time vs. how I was originally packing it all into one monolithic update HAK.

Have to convert it over to a unix shell script for the Linux (and MacOSX?) folks now.

Just have to clear out the server of my test content and start putting the 1.69 stuff up and make the updater package available to everyone.

I also added some hooks for PWs to customize it to their own server (HAK name prefixes, URL, etc.). Server admins will have to figure out how to run their own rsyncd server however. http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

And I'll probably accept ERFs from people to put in for testing areas to catch bad walkmeshes and sparklies and such. I think I'd also need to write an animation tester as well.

I'm hesitant to open it up for general requests outside the scope of bug testing the art assets however, as people will likely flood it with their pet requests or nitpicks or stuff that's outside my realm of responsibilities.

1 hour: € 70.<hr />Well I just asked the guy who did the GUI for NWN and he said "No." and "tell him to prioritize his quickslot items better". http://forums.bioware.com/_commonext/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

It'll take much longer than one hour and 70 euros to add it in, as you'd also have to add code to update every character BIC to support the new quickslot data. Not to mention testing to make sure it won't corrupt your game.
