Ok, you know how everytime you type in a password onyour computer, instead of showing what you are typing it just shows a bunch of "********"
Is there a way to get rid of that so when you type in a password, you actually see the letters/numbers/symbols you are typing in?
My wife and I are the only two people who ever use this computer, its not a public terminal.
Since I am not the best typer in the world, I'd prefer to see what I am typing.

IIRC, no, there is no way to see the password you're typing.

Though some sites do some odd stuff when you register. They ask for username/password, and when you type the password it shows as *****. Then it shows a confirmation screen with "your username and your password are:" and here it shows your password in full normal spelling. Not very clever :)

I like the fact that the password doesn't show up. I you aren't sure of you typing, slow down and look down.

The ******'s are a security feature...that way, if someone were to be watching you desktop through a program, or over your shoulder thay wouldn't be able to see what you typed...unless you're a really slow typer. :rolling:

Type your password into notepad, then copy it and paste it into the password field. That way you see what you typed (in notepad) and you can just close notepad afterwards. It'll be slower but if you're not sure that you've typed your password correctly then it's definetly a solution.

If you don't need asterisks, you don't really need a password. Again, for browser-based e-mail accounts, message boards etc there's no such option, so, as LB said, type it into some text file on your dekstop and you're set. Or use shorter and less complicated passwords. The best idea is to have your fingers learn your password, so to say. I don't really have to remember my password as a sequence of characters, I just reach out and type when it comes to it. My fingers "know" it. Works like charm. But you might need a special password for this.
