I work in an email call centre and when I first started working (around 4 years ago) 95% of the junk email was porn, from the standard, to the truly bizare. Lately I have noticed this has shifted to Viagra and various penis and sexual enhancement charms and also 'cheap software', romantic advice plus dog training e-books! Probably less than 10% is porn of any description.

Are people becomming less perverted, or has all that porn made people impotent (in many ways).

Not really... it's just that the Internet is saturated with porn, so it's not selling that well any more. Spammers selling Viagra, Cialis and other junk are making big bucks, as people are more likely to buy such things online.

Spam works like asking strangers for sex. If you ask a thousand, one by one, "will you go to bed with me?", you'll be rejected most of the time but you'll still go to bed often. That's how spammers make their cash online via junk mail.

sometimes I wonder who are worse .. the spammers or the people who buy the stuff the spammers are selling .. if it weren't for them they wouldn't spam as it wouldn't be profitable

There's always going to be some poor old lady buying viagra for her 80 year old husband. Sorry couldn't resist putting that image into everyone's head.
