I read in another forum that the codec in my computer might not be compatible with the Morrowing game. They suggested I try another one. Can someone tell me what is a codec and which is a good one to try?

Mystra's Chosen Sun, 9th Nov '03, 6:52am Codec stands for Compression/Decompression, which I think means that your computer takes stills of things that aren't moving and plays them, so it saves resources. That is, at least, how DivX works. Game codecs? I don't know of any, but I'd recommend just getting the latest drivers for you videocard (just go to their website). That should work. Dragonfly Sun, 9th Nov '03, 7:08am I have a Crystal CS4280 audio card and I can't seem to find any drivers for xp!?! I just got the card and I think it came out before xp any idea where I can get some drivers from? Jschild Sun, 9th Nov '03, 2:47pm Go to here http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/companies/263.htm?acd=3&rvd=5&thx=9&bng=7&o=7 and download the windows 2000 driver for your card. Most Win2000 drivers are identical to WinXP drivers so this should work. If you need an obscure driver just Google it and its easy to find. Took me 30 sec to find this for you. Hope it helps. |
