The thing I love about this is that a bunch of Sunni religious leaders are saying that the Iraqi elections are not valid because there weren't enough Sunnis who voted. (Wait, that's not the funny part.)

However, these same Sunni leaders told their flock, before the election, to BOYCOTT the darned thing. (Now that's the funny part.)

That's a great self-made Catch 22. :D

They would be happy only if more Sunnis voted than Shias. But that isn't possible simply because Sunnis are a minority in Iraq. So, anyway they want it, they're on the lost ground.
But you know what? If they manage to pull it off, it will signal a new era in politics. Democracy? The rule of the minority over everyone else.
Just think of the possibilities -- the Italian (e.g.) minority in the US will say that the election is not valid because not enough Italians voted. And they will keep it up until only Italians will vote... ;)
Or any other minority for that matter...

From what I read there was some semblence of a point in their ramblings, namely that not enough ballots had been allocated to sunni areas. This left tens of thousands of willing voters unable to do so.
