I am ashamed of living in the same area as such a sucky NFL team God, Jesus!

It's like when I was growing up in a different area with another sucky NFL team who I dearly loved the Browns

That's too bad... the Lions over here in BC are on top of the CFL at 9-0. I don't follow the sport at all, but it's got the media's attention and I can't help but notice it.

Lucky. At least you *have* a professional team where you are. Lions, Pistons, Tigers and Redwings - Iowa has nothing.

Neither does Chicago....

The newspapers were talking about the wild card race before the all-star break. Da' Bears...yeah, right. Chicago disowned the Sox in 1918.

I don't understand the fuzz with USA football, I mean it isn't even played with feet!

Nonetheless it could be worse you could have no Team. If you ask me Hockey is THE sport.

Keep the faith. I think the Detroit running backs and Wide Recievers are pretty good. The QB and defense scare me :)

Go Pats

So long as the Lions suck, the Packers will look good in comparison, no matter how bad they screw up the team. :rolleyes:

@Snook:
Don't you mean "Go Pack"? :p

I'm assuming you saw the preseason game between the Pack and the Pats. If I was a Packer fan I would be worried.

I don't understand the fuzz with USA football, I mean it isn't even played with feet!:lol: Gives new meaning to the positions: running back, kicker and punter.

@Snook:
Yeah I saw it, and it only goes to prove my theory that the Packers have been systematically weeding out the good players since Holmgren left. I'm not so much worried as I am saddened that they would intentionally deprive Favre of his last chance at another Superbowl ring by surrounding him with incompetants. And the worst part is: noone seems to notice! They attribute the Packers' failings to Favre's "decline" when it's really the other way around.

How long has Favre been playing pro anyway? Five, six years? Way too long. :rolleyes: How silly of him to want a career out of this. :p

More like 13 years. IIRC, the Packers picked him up from the Falcons in '92.

i believe that they picked him up from the bucs not the falcons but it was in 92' im fairly sure

Favre NEVER played for the bucs. He was a third-stringer for the Falcons before the Packers noticed his greatness.

If he's still first string, he must be doing something right. I'm not much into (American) football anymore - late 80s is when I started doing erm, 'other' things. ;)

Minnesota's gonna take everyone in that division to the cleaners. Then lose in the first round of the playoffs to the wild card team.

Check our Favre on the web -- Atlanta for the first year, Green Bay thereafter. You may be thinking of Steve Young who came from the Bucs before playing in San Francisco.

Minnesota's gonna take everyone in that division to the cleaners. I'm sad to say I have to agree with that. The Packers were the only competition in the league for the Vikings last year, but now that the new GM has crippled the offensive line, Favre's going to have an even hard time making his usual magic. Plus, we gave the only great player we had in the secondary (Darren Sharper) directly to our best competition (Minnesota)!

That crippled offensive line could lead to another Favre injury in the early season

Well, I'm a huge Eagles fan and it is an uncomfortable place to be. I mean, I cannot stand T.O., absolutely despise the man, and yet I am going to have to cheer for his every ego-inflating touchdown. He better not say anything bad about my boy Donovan! Donovan is the single nicest and most humble profesional athlete to have ever been born; to see him coupled to that attention whore just breaks my heart.

But seriously, I have complete perspective as far as the Eagles are concerned.

There are only two words which would cause me to complain about my favorite team:

Jeff George

I cheer for Atlanta. No recievers, awesome QB, decent HB's and a wicked defense. The only problem is that Falcons fans bank everything on the abilities of Mike Vick and pray that he doesn't get hurt. I wish that they had traded for Terrel Owens during this off season, or Randy Moss. I love both their attitudes (they know their good and have that swagger. I love it), and you can't argue with their talent.

I am a die hard football fan. First off the Pats are way over rated this year. Yes they will most likely make the playoffs. As the season goes on many teams will be able to take advantage Pats due to the lose of Weis and Crennel.

As for the Lions are they not top of their division right now? The same of course holds true for the 49ers too, which to me is scary.

But as we all know there are 15 games left for each team and that means, anything could happen. Till than I am rooting for the underdogs, Go Bengals!
