Stargazer rb-rjd Sat, 5th May '01, 8:48am He means Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It's a 16-bit console and ... that's about it. As for a site try www.emusanet.com. (http://www.emusanet.com.)
They got plenty of links too so you'll surely find what you want.
Taluntain Sat, 5th May '01, 12:50pm Alien-_-Hunter, next time you post a topic, make the headline relevant to your query and not just "plz help" or some generic crap like that. Makes it easier for people to know what's going on, and it saves me the time to edit it. OK?
FenixStrife Sat, 5th May '01, 6:22pm try http://www.uwizone.com/emu
Snes9XW is a wonderfull emulator, there are a few better ones, but it is the only one I know of that handles transparency with all video cards. transparency isnt always essential, but it is a lot of the time.
Crawl Sun, 6th May '01, 6:36am So I realize what a Super Nintendo is, but what is an emulator? Does it allow you to play snes games on your computer? And if so, why? There have to be plenty of old systems floating around. Heck, it's been about 6 years since it bit the dust. Man how times change now adays ;)
Stargazer rb-rjd Sun, 6th May '01, 8:43pm An emulator is basically what you describe. Now, its reasons for existense are:
1.You can recreate the magic of some old arcade coin-up games or play on systems that are not in the market anymore.
2.Basically, it saves you a lot of money. You can get a Gameboy emulator and play all the games you like for FREE. If you have a good enough computer you can even run emulators for more advanced consoles Playstation, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast etc) without spending a dime.
Game companies DON'T approve of such things. Everyone else does... :D.

Stargazer rb-rjd Mon, 7th May '01, 1:39pm Herf, you must have heard of amulators somewhere. Anyway, it's exactly what you describe. They simulate certain game consoles and even older computer systems. First you gotta find the right emulator and maybe take care of some configuration options so that it works with your PC. Then you have to find the ROMS ( they are the actual games ) you want to play and off you go. Try visiting an emulator site from the ones in this thread. You'll find more there.
Sapiryl Mon, 7th May '01, 3:56pm The best emulator/ROM site that I've found is www.vimm.net. (http://www.vimm.net.) They have just about every NES and SNES game ever made. I spent about half an hour playing NES Mike Tyson's Punchout. And who could forget goodies like Contra and Life Force?
***Remember, you should only download a ROM if you have the original cartridge or have bought the original cartridge previously. Otherwise, you have 24 hours to delete the game. The 'net generally has no way to track you if you do or not, but it's the law.
Crawl Tue, 8th May '01, 6:01am Mike Tyson't punch out was the only old nintendo game I held on to. I sold everything else off myself for mostly scrap I believe to upgrade to the SNES. I kept Mike Tyson's just because they stopped making it in favor of just Punch Out for some reason, so I figured it might become a collectors item one day. Incidently, Contra and Life Force RULED!! Contra was my favorite though. Don't forget about Ninja Gaiden or Castlevania either :D
